I really love photography. It's a passion. Sometimes I'll get an idea in my head for a photograph, or a series of photographs, but have no way to try it out. In the absence of other willing models (which is usually the case), I'll use myself as the subject. Expect everything in this thread to be of me, by me, unless otherwise noted.

I also love the look of monochrome, so these photos will be almost entirely shot in black and white, or perhaps toned, like sepia.

Enough chatter. Let's begin.

Very nice start ;) I like the darker filters or the really bright ones! Those totally expose you though lol

Nice start. I love the look of monochromatic photos. There's something extra sexy about shadowy black and white photos ;)

Thank you, Glitterkitty! I like those extremes, too, low key and high key. Low key tends to look better on me, though.

I totally agree! I was going for a sort of "noir" look in these, like an old detective film from the 30s or 40s, and I think I mostly pulled it off. I'm glad you like it!

[QUOTEgoing eRedCentaur;57039158]Here is another one from that same series.

Yeah loving the "noir" vibe if that's what we're calling it :) I'm going to stick with "shadowy and sexy".[/QUOTE]

Well, I call it "noir" for "film noir," but on reflection, "shadowy and sexy" has more of an appeal to it. Let's go with that.

So, I'm having to post this series one at a time because for some reason all the photos have the same file name, and I can't seem to change them in my phone without going into a computer to do so.

Doing it this way does string things out, though. It's a bit like leaving little black and white photographic breadcrumbs. Where will they lead? Follow them and see….

Hummm a trail of crumbs and it's almost dinner time! Yay :)

Black and whites are my favorites, nice job!!

Thank you! That's high praise from someone with your creativity and skill! :) There are some I've done in color, but mostly I prefer black and white for this sort of work, too. I tend to look better that way, anyway.

Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it's off to work I go...but I leave you with another one for your consideration.

And Then A Year Went By...

It's been over a year since I've posted anything here, and I've been thinking it's time I started again.

This is one I posted in another thread over a year ago, but I never put into this one. A study in light and shadow.

Here's another bit of monochrome of my better side.
