No, not him.

The surviving band members got together to tribute Davy Jones in Escondido to a sea of gray hair and comb domes.

I watched the original show and liked the music, maybe not my favorite, but always welcome on my radio.:)

I love the show because it's stupid and they were high when they made it. Love the songs and I saw them in concert once. I think they were great fun. Not all bands had to be serious.

I liked a lot of the music. They had the best songwriters in the business.

Since I believe the music takes on a life independent of whoever wrote or performed it, I never had a problem with the way the band came to be put together.

If you don't think they had good songs, you need to Take A Giant Step Outside Your Mind.

A friend of mine has a kid with Perthe Syndrome, which some people call "Mickey Dolenz Disease". Basically one hand and one foot stop growing "normally" at puberty.

I always thought Mickey Dolenz was just miming playing the drums because he had it set up with his left hand on the snare and left foot on the bass pedal, but it turns out he really could play, he just didn't have the strength in the right side of his body.

Gee. I would have loved to discuss this back when it was relevant...

Yeah, that's another attitude I never subscribed to.

Music doesn't get old. It's not like fruit. A song isn't suddenly bad because it is now longer new.

I know a lot of good songs from the 90's.

The 1890's.

And some people thought he could only train elephants. 8)

Maybe we should dig Davy up and prop him in the corner and have another tribute show.

I loved the reruns as a kid. All the hits were written by great songwriters, including Boyce & Hart, Neil Diamond and Carol King & Jerry Goffin.

I do love "Your Auntie Griselda" which is a Peter Tork song.

Posture all you wanted, trying to appear hip and current.

The fact remains, they've still made more music than you ever will.

And, IMHO, the music is all that counts.
