I'm new around here and can say I miss your pictures even though I never did get to enjoy them. Saw a few of your posts in other threads, but something about your avatar was intriguing. And your writing was kind of sublime in a way. The picutres would have been a bonus I suppose.

A small update

Well, I happened to be sitting at the computer today with not much else to do and I decided I would pop in to Lit and see what was going on. Couple people happened to notice I was "back" and sent me some PMs to see how I was doing. I thought I'd save myself the effort and just post on the thread. That way anyone who wants to know is in the know and I don't have to deal with copying and pasting it into lots of little PMs.

Ok. So here is the rambling reader's digest version...
I've been working my ass off for the past several months with two jobs plus classes. Luckily the snow is pretty much gone and I don't really have any work left to do, except sporadic hours here and there.

Consequently, that means I get to make about $200 a week collecting unemployment, which I absolutely love. This gives me time to do my schoolwork, and try and start working out again. Next Saturday I have commencement ceremonies and if all goes well I will be walking with Summa Cum Laude (highest honors you can get). I was also inducted into the Alpha Chi National Honors Society. I won't finish classes until mid-June however, which kinda sucks but hey that's life... I'm getting a Bachelor of Science in 3 years- not a bad deal.

For July and August I am completing an internship at a small resort place in West Virginia (no, I'm not telling anyone where it is, sorry). After that I'm not sure- I might come back to Vermont or I might go back to Michigan. I've also been tossing around the idea of moving to Chicago with a friend or going to Boston. My ex-boyfriend (my first love) and I have been talking again and throwing around the idea of me possibly moving to Columbus with him as he's going to Dental school at OSU.

Other than that, I'm considering going back to Europe and studying to teach English as a foreign language. I would love to stay in Spain with some friends or possibly head over to Prague or other parts of Eastern Europe. It's all up in there air.

I'm doing pretty good emotionally, even though it was a rough winter. I just took myself off some anti-depressants after being on them for 2 weeks. They really improved my mood and helped me get motivated to get some work done that was really pressing, however I didn't really care for the constant nausea or being extremely tired, especially when the adrenaline boosting wouldn't happen for a couple more weeks or so.

I've gotten into road biking a lot and am planning on doing that and some mountain biking while I'm in WV. Been trying to keep up on my yoga and healthy eating, but sometimes it's not so easy, especially after just turning 21 in April and now all my friends want me to go out with them. It's not very cost beneficial might I add.

I've also been going to a chiropractor a couple times a week in hopes to fix some issues that have been going on for a while. I have what's called Lumbardization where one of my disks is not only extra, but it's not sure if it wants to be part of the lumbar region or the sacrum. This wouldn't be such a problem, except the left side has fused and the right side hasn't, leaving me with a lot of motion out of the right and not a lot out of the left. Following my spine up, it's caused the whole thing to basically rotate. This also creates a muscle imbalance and the muscles in my arms and legs, particularly my hamstrings, are overly tight and so much so that they are reducing bloodflow to my feet and hands. This means that periodically I will lose feeling in those areas, though it happens a lot more to my feet than anything else. Also, if I sit or crouch for too long my entire legs will go to sleep. It's not so fun. I've also got some issues with my upper vert because of some falls I've taken over the years that have created minor whiplash effects. I'm feeling much better already but it will take time for things to get to a fairly normal point.

I suppose that's it... so I'm going to post a pic of me and my housemates and some other people on our trip to Montreal. The pic was taken in Burlington however. If you don't know which one I am, I'm the cutest one.

oh, I almost forgot. I traded my Grand Am in for a Nissan Xterra. My first time ever driving it was in a bad snowstorm at night- it also happened to be the first time I drove standard. Go figure. All's good though and I love it. It's red.

Sounds like after weathering some tough times, you've come out pretty much on top of things. Can't say that's something I wouldn't have expected.

CONGRATS on your FANTASTIC academic performance! All that hard work WILL pay off sometime along the line!

And while I gotta admit I've missed your cheerfullness around here, I'm the first to realize that sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

Yeah hopefully all that hard work will quickly pay off the $30k debt I've managed to rack up in the past two years. Of course, it was my decision to ditch the college with the full ride so I really shouldn't be bitching about my student loans. I've got a pretty good education, which is more than some people out there.

I am so happy to hear from you. Believe it or not I was thinking about you last week. I am glad to hear you are doing well. I am sorry to hear about your back and depression. At least you were smart enough to get help on both fronts.
