Y'know, with renegadeirishman saying hello and telling us his name is Dan, I wondered what everyone else's name was. Not that I think we'll end up using them, but it occurred to me that I don't know Liar's first name, for instance.

Mine is Flannel. Hi.

I'm Victoria -no really, I am :)

I don't know who else will share 'cos some people are a bit attached to their anonimity (is that spelt even remotely right?)

I knew this from somehere. (Your Youtube thingys, I think.) But I always assumed it was your last name. Heh.

Anyway, I'm Mattias. Common enough where I'm from that you have to see this post, this AV and know me personally to get that it's me. So anonymity, shnanonymity.

I do stubbornly not answer Americans who try to convert that to Matt or Matthew.

I'm Tom (actually it's my middle name, but since I have the single most unusual name on Lit and can be immediately Googled from it, that's the best you're going to get :p ).

See, "Victoria" is all kinds of proper and pretty. I dig that name much.

Mattias. Well, hello Mattias. Is there ever a short for that? Or is it considered poor form to shorten it? I shorten most everyone's names that I know. Co-workers are "Jim", "Tom", or "Bob" or whatnot. I'm terrible with remembering names, so I make them short and simple.

Hi, Tom. I can appreciate unusual names. I'm easily googleable, always have been. Not many "Flannel"'s out there.

A lot of people know this already, but I'm Chris. Don't think there's much risk in me telling you that. :p

*giggles, flaps arm and blushes*

I get shortened to Vicky mostly, Vick sometimes and V,well only one person does that *grins*. I answer to any and all of them, though I'ma bit picky about how my Vicky is spelt. I'm the Vicky with a y. :)

Somehow, Randy has always fit me in one form or another.....

Patricia. :)

Another very common name, so no worries.

I'd have never in a million years guessed you as a Patricia but it's a lovely name. Unusual and kinda elegant :)

Thank you.

Never "Patty"?

Patti, sometimes, Pat others (very few get away with that), but my father always, always called me Patricia, and pronounced it the latin/spanish way.

Is that pronounced like the english Lynn? ( rhymes with bin)
Yes, almost everyone here pronounces it Lynn. Close enough anyway. ;)

Kindof. It can work in kindergarten or the schoolyard, but you grow out of it by the time you reach High School.

Personally, I'd have a hard time remembering peoples' names if they were all shortened down to monosyllabics. "Tom" "Bob" "Joe". Too similar.

Only (other) Patricia I know insists on being called Trish. Or Pri. Last one always struck me as weird.
