I think Mad About You was the last time I saw a NYC TV apartment that looked kinda real. Seinfeld maybe but the constant walking in unlocked doors always took me out of it.

Majority of apartments in NYC are pre-war and don't really lean towards an enviable glamorous. Media will always upsell and fantasize the aesthetics of living space here, especially that which supposes accessibility for middle class and those with ordinary jobs.

A better reality of this city is four people sharing a two bedroom, one bathroom walk-up apartment due to the crazy rent prices. That's a hard sell to make pretty on-screen. I'll have to peep this series.
