Moderators on the GB?

Just curious, with the events of the last few months, how many would like to see the GB have moderators?

If so, should their identities be public knowledge or should they be anonymous Mod's?

What exactly do the mods do on the other boards? How do they decide what posts to remove? How do they deal with obnoxious posters? Would having them on the GB really make a difference?

If there were Mods, they should be anon.

Lit Mods have been proven over time to be bias and/or corrupt, one after another.

I voted no... mainly because it's my usual knee-jerk reaction to any kind of censorship in general.

But what exactly does a mod do? What criteria do they use in deciding to what posts to remove or who should stay and who should go? It seems just so subjective to me...

And I'm one who has no one on ignore. If I don't want to read it I have a built-in ignore button.

Is this being considered?

I don't want to see mods like on other boards. The obnoxious posts are part of the charm of this place. If someone gets their feelings hurt, they belong elsewhere. But the damage extending past feelings and into personal lives is our of control.

The spilling of personal information has got to stop and has to be dealt with.

I'd like to know that there's someone around taking responsibility for posts that hurt more than feelings.

That's how I'd see a moderator on the GB, as a policer of those who break the rules with personal stuff. Damn tough job though as I see it.
