mistress/kinda harsh
While I agree that this will probably come to no good end and several people will wind up hurt in the aftermath, I do see a benefit in reading the journal of this relationship.
A sample set of one is not statistically significant, but I have no personal experience with infidelity upon which to draw conclusions.
I am not so self-assured that the life choices that I have made were always for the best. They were always consistent with my beliefs, but I probably hurt some people by turning down their advances or by simply being oblivious to their interest. While I'm no spring chicken, I am open to changing my beliefs and other people's experiences are much less costly to learn from.
I feel no need to be judgemental in either a supportive or condemning manner, but I am very interested to hear how this and other affairs have turned out in the end.
I'm sitting home alone yet again, so understand I'm trying to learn here, not to teach. That is one of the great benefits of this group.

Yikes, the last post here is 5-6 days ago. I am strangely addicted to this thread. Could be the fact that I watched soap operas religiously as a teen and a 20-something

Dear Diary,
Yesterday, Sunday, was my first official day as Jack’s mistress. Oh, god, he really rocks my world!
But I didn’t see him until today at work. We passed in the hall when he came out of the Monday morning operations cmte meeting. We were supposed to meet for lunch. I tried to ignore him as he passed me, but I couldn’t avoid those piercing blue eyes. I must have blushed six shades of red. What a match with my white blouse and red skirt.
Anyway, back in my office, I got this email:
“Please change the presentation date May 10th at 4 pm. Should go for an hour.
--Jack.”
That means, let’s meet at 1:00 pm at 10th and D streets. It’s our little code. I couldn’t wait for one o’clock to roll around. Everybody knows I like to eat lunch on the early side, so I had to act busy, busy when people came by to ask me for lunch. It was all I could do to make up stuff to do. I didn’t dare talk on the phone.

I know what you are dealing with, in this situation. Your purpose as a good mistress is to be understanding, a good listener, affectionate in whatever way he wants, whenever he wants. Basically you have to be available to him, totally accessible at all times. That last part isn't possible, so the trick is to make him think so.
