OOC: Mister Nigel. Middle aged, but in excellent shape. Hair black peppered with grey. Steely grey eyes. 6'2" 195. Background shrouded in mystery.
IC:
I didn't need to look at the clock to see that she was right on time. Her eyes widened when she saw the gun pointed directly at her lovely face. There was indecision there. She wasn't sure whether she should flee or stay.
I made the decision for her.
"Come in," I ordered. "Can close the door behind you. Lock it."
She did as she was told.
"When you called to hire me, you said you got my name from a mutual friend," I said. "Well, that woman has been dead for over a dozen years. I would guess you were around eight when she died. I'm wondering where you got that name. I'm also wondering why you're here."
She opened her mouth to speak, but I raised a hand to stop her.
"First things first," I said. "Take off your clothes."
Her face flushed.
"But.... But...." she sputtered.
"I need to make sure you aren't armed," I said. "Or that you aren't wearing a wire. This interview goes nowhere until I'm sure...."
I watched her struggle to make up her mind....
