Missing Images? Please read

holy shit, talk about thread drift, this has gone from missing images to be a Democcrat v Republican politcal thread and now we've got a first time poster posting pics on it ...........amongst other things, can't say we're not a diverse bunch of pervs now can you !!!!!

Lit is huge site, compare it against others who host similar, infact, to get a decent gauge of how many pics are posted here, look at the urls for pics posted on any thread one month ago and look at them for todays ones, over 10,000 pics have been posted to the site in the last month alone. It's a prime target for those who would like to use any new US laws to bring it down so of course it must now enforce the laws of the country within which it operates, no matter how many of us are outside the US and are not on a more personal level subjected to any US law besides ones which are affecting the world wide web.

Ember well said dear, it's nice ot see yourself and a few others sticking to the topic ............ while on the topic and this thread it's pretty apparent the one off post on page 1 was just that, a one off, it wouldn't appear any answers are going to be forth coming in the forseeable future so it's suck it up and deal with it or as Ember, Flame, Bootgrrl and a few others have so eloquently posted, if you don't like it, leave.

Some missing images are not enough to make me leave, there's too many reasons and too many hot sexy women who can turn me on with other things besdies a gyno shot to make me want to pack up and find a new home.

we find it a bit anoying when our pictures disapear

we would like to know if it just the new rules ( which is ok if it is)
or is there a technical problem as well( as my thumb didnt break the rules)

all we would like is a one paragraph answer so we all know where we stand

i dout any of us feel strongly enough to leave as most of us enjoy the chat and freindships as much as the pictures

so just an answer would be nice

U.S. 2257 is not going to be stricken/abolished from the U.S. legal code. Why? Because the express purpose of the law is to "protect minors from porn on the internet." Voting against it or to strike it from the legal code is probably the quickest way to ensure that an elected official will never be elected again.

On the other hand, supporting the ACLU and related organizations that are challenging the law in court (especially the wording of the law) would be a heck of a lot more effective.

My question has never been answered....privately or publicly. I surmise it never will be...I will use what common sense I have and brass balls (yes , they are innies and NOT outies), to post what I want to...let the censors or "glitches" fall where they may.

My 2 cents on this topic.

I have had 5 pics posted that I knew were against the "rules" and others that were not, which had been removed. The 5 were expected...The others were well within the rules/guidelines. As a former mod on this site, I would have thought I might have earned the .....................well doesn't matter. I have gotten to answers and I do not think any of us will unless the OWNERS (Manu and Laurel) answer us, which I do not think they will do. Nigel, who IS the MODERATOR of this board, cannot give answers if the OWNERS do not give them to him. It is NOT his fault. Let's place the blame where it belongs.............THE OWNERS!

Wow...Just noticed ShyGuy is back as Moderator........I wish you both well.......... but I do feel like you should tell us why your removing pics when you do. Just leave a lil note so everyone knows. I no longer accept the tale of LIT HAS GLITCHES..........Ya'll need to speak up. Your removing pics, yet you say nothing. How the heck are members to know what is over the edge? I do not blame ya'll for doing what you are asked to do, but I CAN and DO blame ya'll for not stating reasons why, or even that you did it, when you do it!

You could make things sooooo much easier if you did leave a note as to why, or at least that you did it, then people would automatically figure out why. I had some removed but were out of the rules, yet others were also removed that were within the rules. Are ya'll picking and choosing? Are ya'll playing favorites and dissing those who are not favs of yours? Are you looking at only some threads and not others?

Yeah I know I am being a wench but until you respond to someone...anyone with answers, I will continue to post in this manner.

Has anyone considered the possibility that someone has hacked into this site and is fucking with us? The fact that there seems to be no clear pattern to what disapears and what stays suggests to me that a hacker is lurking. And the Lit folks are just not willing to admit that they are powerless to do anything about it.

LOL...and I was just thinking...contact my mayor?? LMFAO! That's a joke. He's currently on a crusade to close up all the adult shops here. He's so religious right. And so is the senator from KS. Hell...read the current Rolling Stone...there's an article in there about him. I ended up throwing the mag across the room because it was peeving me so much.

Anyway... easier said than done.

And the thing is...this stuff has been creeping up since B Sr was in office and even before ... and everyone just kept the blinders on their eyes and refused to see the changes that were slowly being made. And now that things are being taken away that people get peeved about, now they open their mouths and get all pissy and ask, WTF? It's all been coming for a loooong time. Need to just pay attention a bit more to what's going on rather than pretending that everything is just fine.

Hmm...and I find it a lil ironic that the whole reason the forefathers came over here was to escape the oppression and beliefs that were being forced on them...and now our current "fathers" are doing exactly what the fore ones were trying to get away from. ahhh...I don't know why I even speak up in here anymore. Nobody ever reads it and the same questions keep getting post over and over and over even after the questions have basically been answered.

As to why no answers... maybe the owners are ready to pack up shop. I have a prediction that within a year, Lit may not even be around any more. Maybe they're just tired of dealing with the site. They ARE humans with lives of their own after all. Maybe things have come up in their lives and they can no longer do much with Lit. Thus, just letting things go and not giving answers. Guess we'll see, eh?

perhaps this has already been answered

i have read the recent questions by members and statements by experts, mods or those seem to be in the know

my question is...what is the difference between a place like lit and groups/communities on yahoo or msn or the like?

i see pics posted other places that do not have names and addresses posted with their pic but there is no mumbling of pulling pics or posting rules, etc.

frankly ember, if larurel and manu are tired i'm sure they can find a buyer for their investment, perhaps that would not necessarily be a change for the better but if it is just the case of the owners or higher powers being tired, flexing their muscles, or something else then perhaps the change will be for the greater good....this place is running down hill and running fast, it honestly won't be long until the statement around here is "last one out, make sure to lock up."

and perhaps that is the real reason for the current state of affairs...perhaps is a business that is trying to turn customers away because its a way to shut down quietly.............

all i know is that lit is not the place it used to be, friendly faces or not, it just isn't

Please, Please, Please come up soon with some way of applying the rules (that I understand have been forced on yourselves by your idiotic government which does seem to be run by Puritans and Biblical Scholars) so that there is some consistency in what is, or isn't, allowed ... especially with regards to the double standards applied to the Lit Websites highlighted by Lee !!!

I think that a detailed explanation from the Mods of what isn’t actually allowed under the heading of “lascivious exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of any person” may help somewhat !!!

And once that is clarified, maybe a bit of consistency in the deletion of “offending pictures” might stop comments made and people leaving this site for other sites where the rules are less strict due to their being hosted in countries without such idiotic laws or politicians !!!

I for one do not wish to leave this site, or for any of my friends on here to do the same... it would be a real pity for such a great community to be destroyed by any inaction on behalf of the Mods or the Owners of Lit.

Well bod, except those are sites hosted off Lit and not part of Lit which means more likely than not I'm wrong. On the other hand, if those are okay, then I'm kinda thinking putting pics in a private Yahoo Photo album and posting the link here may be okay-then again, I don't know for sure. Fact is, if you Google Lit, it's first and foremost a story site. All pretty fucked when you think about it. What I mean is, Lit is a private entity incapable of violating First Amendment rights, except under extremely rare circumstances-really, it's the government that's not allowed to do that. Now I know somebody will say something about certain discrimination suits against privately own entities and the violation of the 14th Amendment, which incorporates the Bill of Rights, but those cases are probably not really the same. I hate conformity, but I'm not planning on leaving. Things change, times change-all of this will eventually change I suspect.

this post is not meant for the moderators, but rather is a general statement about the messed up nature of the laws of this country. why is it that one can type in "sex" and see thousands of pictures of copyrighted sex all over the net, and yet our lawmakers in thier infiinate wisdom think that they can somehow make any sort of difference by not letting people post amature pictures of themselves doing the same things you can see all over the net?

Yes some have been ....... but can you imagine the task at hand, checking all these threads and pulling the pics, if none of them were indexed the job may be close to impossible unless the pics are being checked throuh each persons profiles attachments page, still a monumentl task.
