I understand that they have the right to remove photos. Great super fantastic. BUT when mine are getting deleted, and other girls aren't, then that's bullshit. My picture was from like 3in below my belly button up, no labia, no vagina what so ever...and that gets deleted, but other girls can have pics of cucumbers up their twats and no one deletes that? that's terrible. and i don't appreciate you being a fucking dick either!

So what your saying is you posted pics against the sites stated guidlines, they were removed and then you knowingly posted them again and your upset they have subsequently been removed yet again? Hmmmmm yeah you've got a real case there !!!! Grow up !!!!

That's funny. Red we have all had g and pg rated pics. vanish. I've seen alot of posting stating some of the pics disappearing is a tech issue, not just the admin. of Lit.

When I posted my thread in July, I knew back then there was a probability of pictures being removed because of content. At that time there was a sticky post much like this one, giving a link to the same rules. When pictures began to be removed or disappeared (depending on how you look at it, because some of the cleaner ones went first), I wasn't at all surprised. Then I got a barage of PMs asking me where the hell my pictures went and I even posted that they were probably being deleted by the mods. After about 4 weeks of people complaining over and over that the links on my index were broken (different ones, mind you), I gave up and removed my thread completely.

My point is two-fold:
a.) If you don't like it, take down the pics you have left and go elsewhere OR just post clean pics that follow the guidelines.
b.) If someone's pictures go missing, don't go crazy on them because it's not their fault. It drove me away. I used to have over 2000 pictures posted, more than half of which were clean enough to be on here still. But I got fed up, and only came back because a friend of mine told me what was going on.

Personally of the measley 250 + I've thrown up over the last 2 months, i've lost only 2, not a word of complaint but then again the other 248+ are within the guidelines so there hasnt been a reason to delete them.

Well said umchick5 and one i think a few have voiced clearly here and on other threads but some just don't seem to get the 'for free' feature of this site and think they are owed something for posting their pics here. Sure some clean pics are going and as a consequence sadly some memebers and their amazing threads which no one i'm sure wants to see happen. If you're as big as Lit is you're a prime target for the religious right and their anti-fun campaign so better safe than sorry otherwise the whole thing could just go one day.

BTW, if that happens where do we go to make a complaint? !!!!

Thanks hun, I feel that is about the only way you can look at it. Yes, it is sad that some perfectly fine pictures are being deleted, but it's not the end of the world. And if people think for some reason they were deleted accidentally, then just re-post them.

For me, I just didn't have the time to be fixing all my links and weed through what was good or bad. What I posted from the end of July to Mid-september was a WHOLE lot of pictures, simply because I enjoyed the art of it and made good friends. Now I find other outlets, such as occassionally e-mailing pictures to fans who miss me and of course sharing them with my husband.

HOWEVER, I would like to point out that there are many of us who are completely reasonable and "non-whiney/demanding" who are just curious to know if the pic disappearing issue is being worked on or looked into.

I am not talking about the removal of pics that have any chance of being considered "rule-breakers". If those go, no one has any room to complain at all, myself included. However, I think there are enough people posting about a completely seperate issue here. The fact that many many pics that are well within the rules are disappearing. I think we are all intelligent enough to realize that these are two different issues.

Now...(In the most non-whiney reasonable tone I can assume)...I think some of us are just hoping for some word about the second issue. If we don't get it...well *shrug*...tis their site and they can do whatever they damn well want to. Even ignore requests to look into technical issues if they want. Hell, if they wanted to, they could insist that the only pics ever posted are of that damn internet kitten leaping through the grass! (Course, that *might* be considered pussy...not sure on the legality of that!)

Anyhow....respectfully adding my request that the technical issue of non-rule breaking pics disappearing be looked into. If that does not happen, well, so be it. My coffee will still perk, my cat will still shit in the litter pan, and life will go on regardless.

just for the record, my comments were not directed at EVERYONE, just one person who recently felt that the disappearing pics were all about them and not everyone else and felt they had to play 'so and so can do it so why can't I' cause in their eyes another thread hasn't had pics disappear. Yeah it's not cool that the admins haven't answered what is going on, but really what can you do about it...it is a private website and if lit is the same as most of the other adult websites out there, there is probably something in the agreement that each of us agreed to when we registered that indicated that lit can remove pictures and messages at their discretion and without reason. No different than a store reserving the right to refuse service. Maybe one of these days they'll post a message to say what is going on. I say just move on ...there are plenty of pics and other websites out there to see pics that lit cannot allow to be shown

I have been gone for quite awhile...I was interested in coming back...along with pics...After reading all that has been going on and knowing what is supposedely illegal, I will start posting some pics in hoping to either prove to myself that pics are deleted cause of some (supposed) error, OR if they are removed due to the new laws.

OK...Butterfly will be spreading her wings (limited) once again and we shall see what happens.

I am curious to know if when pics are removed, will there be a message stating they have ben removd due to the guidelines (or something like that)?

That way a person will know if the pic is gone due to some error or if it was removed due to a violation.

Well I see it like this, if there is some sort of glitch, Lit needs to know, if there are policy violations, we need to know so that we can adjust our picture taking/sharing to ensure they are within the guidelines. Can't do anything about something if one doesn't know....Just my thoughts on the matter.

I'm sure this is only a temporary problem - Lit has been like a second home over the years to many people, I'm sure. Hopefully whatever issue there is with the pictures will be resolved soon, and we can go back to doing what we love best - being oh-so-sweet voyeurs and exhibitionists.

Well - the file cleaning is still going on. I just noticed that over 50 pics have been removed in the last week from stuff I posted before this all started in early Dec. I guess they are working through threads now and going deeper into the old posts.

I think the system shows "them" the pics that are posted as attachments, the ones you need to click-on to open, and these are the ones being removed. I don't think they are looking at the threads themselves.

I don't think they can see pics that hosted off site and that show up in the message body this way,

I guess those require going into each thread and looking at each message and that is why my pics of me naked as attachments are going away but pics in the message of ass fucking and cum shots are still posted.

Blame Literotica, not the government

Regardless of the numerous and glaring faults of the administration or the US courts, they are no more to blame for the removal of photos from Literotica than Smith & Wesson is to blame when someone murders another person using a gun they produce. Literotica is pulling the trigger, not Bush.

Title 18, Part I, Chapter 110, section 2257, paragraph (a) states

Whoever produces any book, magazine, periodical, film, videotape, or other matter which—

(1) contains one or more visual depictions made after November 1, 1990 of actual sexually explicit conduct; and

(2) is produced in whole or in part with materials which have been mailed or shipped in interstate or foreign commerce, or is shipped or transported or is intended for shipment or transportation in interstate or foreign commerce;

shall create and maintain individually identifiable records pertaining to every performer portrayed in such a visual depiction.

All subsequent paragraphs of this section tie in to this paragraph. Near the end, in paragraph (h), item (3), the following is included with the description for the term “produces:”

…but does not include mere distribution or any other activity which does not involve hiring, contracting for managing, or otherwise arranging for the participation of the performers depicted; and…

This would clearly rule out photos posted on Literotica. They did not
- commission the taking of the images;
- hire the performers;
- solicit managers or act as managers; and
- coordinate or arrange for the participation of the performers depicted.

For example, explain how sites that peddle in celebrity nude photos, movie clips, and/or home or amateur videos are not closing up shop and removing their material? Obviously they can’t “…create and maintain individually identifiable records pertaining to every performer portrayed in such a visual depiction” as they can’t document the thousands of celebrities (and/or associates) that are depicted in the material. So they need to purge a vast majority of their material and are out of business, right?

Wrong. Images produced by other parties, without any prior participation of these sites, is clearly excluded from the requirements of 2257 by (h) (3). If Bob takes a picture of Sue that is sexually explicit, Bob is the producer. If he wants to post or distribute this picture in some way, HE is responsible for adhering to 2257. The site he posts Sue’s picture on is NOT responsible as they did not participate in the production of the picture in any way – the site is excluded by (h) (3).

Literotica is clearly over-reacting. At WORST, all they need to do is state a clear policy that they do NOT get involved in hiring, contracting for managing, or otherwise arrange for the participation of the performers depicted in materials posted by members. They in no way solicit any postings but merely provide a community forum for erotic material for members to post materials under their individual responsibility. It's just like parking your car in a mall parking lot. The mall is not responsible for what happens to the car or its contents, even though the mall provided the parking lot for you to park in.
