Just got home from getting my oldest son unstuck, he made it to within a block of his house. The main roads are very passable but the side streets are a mess.
Fortunately it's very warm and the heavy snow is settling so even though the official total is 20 inches there is only about 8 on the ground.

Honestly I really don't have a issue with them, they have always been very responsive to service requests and when I have had questions for their engineers I have gotten good straight forward answers. Yesterday seeing all the storm damage I can see why it took some time to get everything working.
Just as an example I had 6 whole trees or large portions of trees across my 200 yards of driveway. There is also a tree top on the cabin roof and another tree top on one of the other buildings.
Spring clean up is going to be a bitch.

Lake Country is much better than 10 years ago but if I could switch to MN Power I would do so in a New York minute. Sorry to hear about your lake place. A lot of heavy wet snow by me but no downed trees in my area. Hope you cabin roof has held up as well as one of my sheds. Last three years trees have fallen over it. Still standing thanks to my nephews backhoe.

I agree. Lake Country has been doing a pretty good job and I am sure that they are doing the best they can in times when the weather and sheer magnitude of events make it extremely difficult. I also feel for the folks who have to wait a looong time.
I always say light a fire, get naked and get a bottle of wine when the power goes out.

I can understand why people become snowbirds when they can. I'm definitely a fan of summer over winter.
We didn't any snow from the latest storm but we got about 15" or so in the NW part of the state around Christmas.
