This is the one category at Lit that I actively hate. I know a lot of people here like it, well readers at the least. If you people would spend less time BBSing and more time reading dirty stories, people like me could show you how corrupted you already are.

Anyway.

I think that the mind control category is the worst example of rape in humanity. In mind control the fantasy is that one person controls the body and mind of another person. Sometimes the controlee is aware of it, sometimes not. This takes "unwilling" a step beyond non-consent. The controlee isn't even allowed to have a "will."

Is it, though?

As fantasy I don't get it at all. Makes no sense to me, anyway.

An Opinion

Mind controlling is only an extra chore to be dealt with,on the other hand, manipulating anothers mind is an (Art) to which all writers ascribe.

I actually find the mind control stories here funny. They are so far out of the realm of believability that taking them seriously would be impossible.

My favorites are the ones with the guy suddenly having the ability to hypnotise women with a look. I have been hypnotised in the past and was told by the psychiatrist that I was the easiest person he had ever tried hypnosis with. I was also very succeptible to suggestion once hypnotized. The catch is that even while hynotized you are aware of what's happening around and to you. I still had the choice to follow any of his suggestions and could have resisted any that I didn't want to follow.

So some guy walking into a room, hypnotizing a woman and then her performing all kinds of sex acts that she previously would not do is simply laughable.

I saw a stand-up comedian/hypnotist at a comedy club one time and it was HILARIOUS. He got audience members to do all this really crazy stuff like cluck around like a chicken and hit on other members of the audience that they didn't know. I would NEVER have believed it if my friend hadn't been chosen to go up there. She'd NEVER say the kinds of things like that if it wasn't real.

I have no idea how they do it.

Those are the absolute worst examples to use. There is no way you will do something while under hypnosis that you wouldn't normally do. I susupect it's all a matter of peer pressure. Who wants to be the one that messes up the show?

Physical control is infinitely worse than mind control. At least with mind conrol the person being controled is once removed from the situation.

We'll see

morninggirl5! Listen to the sound of my voice! You will find it very pleasant! Very soothing! You will hear nothing but the sound of my voice! You find yourself getting tired, very tired. You find it difficult to keep your eyes open. You want to close them. You want to sleep, but you can still hear my voice.

You are going into a deep sleep, a very deep sleep. Deep! Deeper! You can still hear my voice. On the count of three, you will be sound asleep but still able to hear my voice. You find it very reassuring! You want to obey it! One! You trust my voice. Two! You do not fear it! You will obey it! You will do whatever my voice suggests. You will not question it, merely obey it. Three!

How am I doing so far?

LOL That's not the way it works.

I'm very easy to hypnotize though, the doctor who did before assured me that if I wanted to use hypnosis to make it through natural childbirth without drugs that my husband would be able to hypnotize me with minimal training.

I could tell you how to do it, but you'd have to be here in person for it to work.

Two hints ---- my eyes have to be closed before you begin, and it's nothing like going to sleep.

:D

I could not disagree more. Know thy enenmy comes to mind. I think the physical control with an actor you know is bad enough but that almost always ends at some point. In reality, mind control exists after great trauma and having had the experience there is nothing worst than feeling out of control of your thoughts. With me it came over and over again in nightmares. I knew they were coming when i lay in bed waiting for sleep. The images and thoughts that filled those dreams were implanted there after someone stolen my sense of safety and security. That bastard physical control over me lasted hours but the control he had over my mind for years after was far worse. For me, fantasy which brings that time back to me in any way is painful. I avoid it like a plague.

I wrote a non-consent story not so long ago. It sucks, don't read it. My point was not to glorify the act. It was to demonstate consequences, and the misuse of power and control. It really is not fantasy at all. When i read it i hate it. Hmm. Calling Dr. Frued.

What a great idea

Did he tell your husband this? Imagine, being able to control your wife. Talk about the impossible dream! The Stepford Wives come true!

No husband to tell. And controlling me isn't actually possible. Even while hypnotized, I'm still conscious of what's happening around me. I have the choice to accept a suggestion or not.

Hypnosis always fascinated me. It was one of the things I did quite a bit of research on as a Psych major.

I'll leave the spare key under the mat. I'm sure I'll be asleep by the time you get here. :p
