Indeed. This is the story brainstorming forum. New posters should read a few dozen threads here to get the feel of the place prior to posting, to gain familiarity with the process: We chew-up ideas and spit them out in strange forms.

I've been accused of having an agenda or three. Wrong. (Except trying to stay somewhere near reality.) I've been accused of mucking-up ideas. Wrong. (But I like extreme extrapolations.) Anyone can ignore me, or heed me, or twist me, or whatever. But ideas posted here are fair targets for the SI brainstorm machine.

I advise skin-thickening.

Yeah. Writers ARE going to discuss their views here! Which doesn't mean they are incapable of supplying certain things people might propose.

But there is also a question about style.

I read a couple of Hypoxia's stories on account of listening to what he was saying here... To me it seemed his style is very much the 'old fashioned?' ( - not necessarily a bad thing!) smut/erotica you could see in a slick Soho porn magazine. It's got that touch of straight out erotic humour, British, I suppose too, in it's manner and delivery.

Pretty unrestrained stuff, some of it. Good clear writing. Slick. Erotic. Dare I say it - professional.

You could try and snap your fingers and get someone to write precisely what you require, but that is a little unreasonable, even though sure, the patter that goes on here sometimes could be a touch annoying from time to time. Style - I think style and the 'angle' of such commissioned stories needs to be explained properly.

I would never be able to write the kind of raucous, raunchy humour of the kind you will see in one of Hypoxia's stories. And I wouldn't try to; it isn't me. But I can enjoy other people doing it effectively.

I'm not familiar with Soho pr0n but I try to inject emotion and wry snarky fun into my stuff. Well, my USA influences include the Firesign Theater and Carl Hiaasen, both epitomes of snark. I blame the rest on a long-ago English lover.

Back to whatever. Yes, this is the place to masticate ideas. One might note that I'll eviscerate the concept of mindcontrol and then posit some storylines exploiting the concept. That's part of the fun here: find what's wrong but use it anyway. We must be conscious of the paradoxes. But remember, paradoxes can be paradoctored. Stories can be screwed and unscrewed. Life can boil.
