Mikhail Gorbachev, initiator of the collapse of the USSR, recently celebtated his 90th birthday

"What happens when a system reaches its structural limits?
This question is as pressing for capitalism as it was for communism some 30 years ago.
Can the experience of the Soviet collapse offer some salvation for a capitalist system that is bursting at the seams?"

What Capitalistic system?

Every time this subject is broached the Liberals do everything they can to point out
all of the great Socialist programs that they have saddled us with over the years.

They even advance the ridiculous claim that the military is Socialist in nature.

Most people in the USA could not even define capitalism

The USA is far from being a capitalist country. The collapse that we are seeing is due to the infection of socialism. So what happened to the USSR will happen here and for the same reason. Socialism sounds good to lazy people that want a nanny state to take care of everything. The appeal to selfish interest fuels its growth just like hormones that fuel the growth of cancer.

The level of stupidity in this country has become painful. The universities are turning out morons that have no practical knowledge or skill. Most of these fools just believe what they are told by the state run education system and the state run news. The majority could not even explain what capitalism really is.

Sociopaths and psychopaths will ultimately destroy any system of government they are allowed to control.

The election of Biden was a big FU to both "paths".

Narrowing the gap between rich and poor is the only possible salvation for Democracy and America's quasi-Capitalism.

I believe that the process of narrowing the gap has begun.

Canada has had socialist programs now for well over half a century, including single payer healthcare. Funny were are nowhere close to a communist country, pray tell me, oh intelligent DPshelly, when are we going to go over that edge....????

BTW Canada leads the USA in life expectancy

In it's citizens being happy to live here,

It is the most popular country to immigrate too ( but right now Americans are not welcome...)

In average family income ( when exchange is considered)
https://www.google.com/search?q=ave...50l8.4030022052j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

The list of where a country which has adopted some social programs, shows that country preforms better for it's citizens than countries that don't. Maybe that is the why the US can't crack the top ten eh?

But you just stay there and keep living the good life, only one unfortunate life occurrence separating you from joining those already in poverty.

Correct and great info! The Countries that are and are going to be doing the best will have a mix of approaches towards economics and civil liberties. As they say...many ways to skin a cat.

Want to avoid poverty? Get another pair of pants, problem solved.

Some of the Socialist programs you’ve been ‘saddled’ with:

Police and Fire departments
Roads
Bridges
Social Security
Medicare
Public Schools
Public Hospitals
Drinking Water
Sewers and Water Treatment
National Parks
Veteran Benefits & GI Bill

Why do these frighten you so? The US is the only developed country in the world that uses the ridiculous notion and fear tactic of Socialism > Communism to prevent their population from having universal healthcare.

The same scare tactics were attempted with some of the programs listed above, and the US did not crumble into the arms of Communism, and has actually benefited from having these programs.

Why are you incapable of learning from US history’s mistakes, and insist on believing and using the same old, failed lies?
Is it because to do so would be counter to your fully indoctrinated “Democrats bad, Conservatives good” ideology?

Yeah, y'all do spend a lot of time crying and whining...

The irony is strong with you these days, AJ. :D

This is beyond idiotic.

This is beyond idiotic.

I completely agree.

The whole Socialism / Communism narrative has been proved an illusion, yet AJ and his fellow Republican sheep continue to tilt at windmills.

Beyond idiotic indeed.

Socialism/communism collapses because it cannot efficiently allocate resources and can exist only through the massive application of force and the threat of violence to enforce compliance with irrational dictates.

Canada, Finland, Norway , Sweden, Denmark, Australia, and New Zeeland, to name a few, all prove you wrong....how can you be so blind to reality?

Most of those nations have freer economies than we do here and are not socialist, but have large welfare states.

Leftist like yourself saying "Nuh uhh!!" as you stand there and promote your brand of totalitarian/authoritarian control......isn't proof of an illusion.

Oh look, more word salad from soldierboy.

Troll on, ain’t nobody got time for your nonsense today. :D

Isn't it interesting that the Left love to pretend there's little difference between "capitalism" (itself a Marxist slur) and communism, yet they invariably opt for the orthodox communist response to every issue? If there's no difference, then let's have the free market, no?

What?

Where has anyone said there is little difference between capitalism and communism?

There are plenty of examples of Republicans claiming implementation of programs such as Medicare and Social Security as Socialism, the gateway to Communism, the end of America should they be adopted. Yet this never has happened. Ever.

Universal Healthcare in other developed nations has not resulted in the foothold of communism and the tragic end of capitalistic policies and economies.

Yet Republican sheep still keep bleating this (see soldierboy’s last 200 posts as an example of this) false narrative.

Your very post:

"The whole Socialism / Communism narrative has been proved an illusion, yet AJ and his fellow Republican sheep continue to tilt at windmills."

I assume you're recycling the argument that, because the free market requires private property, which requires a government to protect it, there's no basic difference.

Oh.

You assumed wrong.

.
These right wingers get more and more unhinged as they feel their entitled privilege slipping away.

It's only going to get worse......for them.
