Mike Pence and Chris Christie to Announce Candidacy Next Week, Hopes for Political Comeback

Pence is delusional and Christie is just there to slice at Trump and DeSantis.

pence left it way too late to speak out, but he seems to have found the words (if very poorly delivered) at last, which is having magats melt down in their usual ugly fashion. their stupidity isn't worth quoting but the link's below if anyone wants to read their crazy assed rantings

“President Trump’s words were reckless. They endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol,” argued Pence. “But the American people deserve to know that on that day, President Trump also demanded that I choose between him and the Constitution. Now voters will be faced with the same choice. I chose the Constitution, and I always will.”

He went on to submit that his old boss was unworthy of reprising his role, declaring “Anyone who puts themselves over the Constitution should never be president of the United States. And anyone who asks someone else to put them over the Constitution should never be president of the United States again.”
now if the speechwriter can just see to it pence gets coached on delivery...

This is exactly why, even though I disagree with Mike Pence on many, many things, I have infintely more respect for him than I ever will for Trump and his followers: Because he is an honest man, and a man of integrity and principles. Whereas Trump clearly is not. This is why he is far more deserving of the White House- for all the blathering about "The Constitution" that Rightguide and the various Harpy incarnations go on about, Pence at least clearly understands what the Constitution clearly is about. Which is why we need him right now.

I have to agree. Nobody wants either one of them.

Pence represents the old order and Christie can't be trusted.
No Republican elected in a Democrat stronghold is truly Conservative.

Pence is going to try to ride on Trump's coattails and pretend he's Reagan reborn,
when if he were true to his values, he never would have accepted the VP position or resigned.

Instead, he was just a potted plant, another RINO in the White House.
Conservatives took notice of that. All he has is...,

Evangelicals.

It must be difficult to be Mike Pence. He's just so damn sexy, he can't be alone in a room with a woman, lest she strip him down and ravage his sexy body. Mother would be mad.

well it looks like 8 candidates have met the criteria to allow them onstage to debate... trump still isn't committing.

now, i know a lot's being said about the reasons why this might be but can anyone tell me if that 'you have to swear to support the chosen candidate, even if it's trump' thing still in play? because if it is, could it be that trump is determined not to swear something in writing, in the public domain, that could mean he has to support another person if they get the nod? we all know he only plans on supporting himself.

Delusional are democrats who deny how bad the current president is. The media the FBI and other letter agencies made up the Russian fraud along with the Clintons. You people make me puke. You turn traitors loose Bergdalh

oh, i went and had a look for myself and no, they've not retreated from the signed pledge thing. Having said that, though, it seems Christie has trump's measure:

A spokesperson for Chris Christie’s campaign, meanwhile, said the former New Jersey governor has been “pretty clear on his thoughts around the pledge and any future support for Trump — conviction or not.”
Repeatedly this year, Christie has said he will not support Trump if he is the nominee. Last week Christie said he would sign the RNC’s pledge in order to debate, but would only take it “as seriously as Donald Trump did eight years ago.” Trump in the 2016 election signed a similar pledge, but later said he would not necessarily commit to supporting someone else as the nominee. Asked about such a pledge this spring, Trump would not promise to back the eventual nominee for 2024.
there's also talk from team trump of running an alternate debate stage themselves on the same day as the RNC one

Oh look a mental patient escaped the playground....

and the same people who'll jump in and condemn Christie's stance will also applaud trump's and not see the blatant disconnect there

Pence ran with Trump which pissed off some of the traditional GOP, then he breaks ranks with Trump which pissed off the Trumpers
So he's basically burned bridges with the entire party....but, hey, yeah let's run....

the evangelicals are increasingly looking for someone other than trump to support given his indictments and court decisions against him. they're most likely to go for pence or desantis. it's not a foregone conclusion.

I just love retorts by dims....the mental patients are you guys that believe sex can be determined in an operating room.
*chuckles* Proof of the mental affliction, claiming to know what I think. Do you use a crystal ball,or is sacrificing chickens more your style?

Pence, delusionally, is running for president. Christy is running to keep Trump from becoming president.

Former President Donald Trump said Wednesday he won't sign a pledge to support the Republican nominee if he loses the GOP presidential primary, flouting a requirement for appearing in the first debate later this month.

“Why would I sign it?" Trump said in an interview on the conservative cable network Newsmax.
so a big 'fuck you' to the republicans choosing their presidential candidate...unless it's him

Christie I might vote for. Pence needs to prove he’s a leader, not a yes man. I prefer other candidates to both of them, however. But I REALLY do not like Trump or De Santis so they have a chance.
