Michigan Roll Call

"de planes, boss! I can hear de planes!"

This place is kinda a "fantasy island", in a twisted sort of landlocked way.

Jets fly-over in about an hour.

The Ypsi Air Show was not long back, and for a few days before they trot out the old war birds at the Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run, fire them up, and take them for shakedown flights to make sure everything is running properly.

I love to watch the B-25 Mitchell and the B-17 fly over low and slow--and loud! And a few P47 Thunderbolts and the P51 Mustang.

We're also on the approach path for Metro, depending on the wind, and jets pass over the house regularly. It's gotten so we don't even notice them anymore. My son remarked about it when they were in town visiting; my response was, "Plane? What plane...? Oh! That plane. Yeah, we get those all the time."

Why does this make me laugh?????
cuz it's a little bit funny.

I loved Tatoo.
Who is doing something fun and exciting this weekend?

a book fest.

Way to go! Congrats on submitting your first story. I'll have to read that in a minute...

I myself have a whole stable of stories I've written/am writing but I'm too damned lazy to submit them, or I think they need further editing, or something. The upshot is I only have one story on this site, though I keep planning on submitting more.

Have you written anything else? Include anything you haven't submitted, yet.

The sun was out, for sure. But the temps were about the same.
I'm in the Detroit area, same as coacheric. Whereabouts are you located? Maybe the weather was different there.

We spent our Sunday cider milling... we hit up three in one day. They were all packed but still had a blast!

Yates has been hit more times in the last month by us than all of last year. With different running events being in that area, my wife keeps stopping in and grabbing a dozen plain and dozen sugar doughnuts and a gallon of cider. Nothing beats cider mill doughnuts and cider

Yates is the one we visit most as well, for years there was only two goats inside their pen. Recently they have added an additional twenty animals to that small pen! Llamas, rams, goats, lambs, and even a cow! I watched a four horned ram try to molest a calf, it was a form of torture! I was completely disgusted and vowed to never return.
We went to a few other ones trying to find a new favorite, Middleton and Dehli were the other ones we visited, I enjoyed Dehli in Holly's atmosphere the most. The Rochester Cider Mill and Goodison Cider Mill are much closer to us, we plan on visiting them soon! We're lucky to have so many choices in such a small area.

I know last year early they had more but as the season went on there were just the 2. The 2 or 3 visits I had there this summer/fall have only had the 2 also but they may have added more now that season is coming in.

The goat feed has always been 25¢, they added way too many animals to that tiny goat pen, and then raise the price to $1 a pop. "Improved experience" my ass. I used to waddle up there for fudge a few times a week with both my pregnancies, the memories were always good.

To our West-siders - has anyone been to Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery in Grand*Rapids? I love the West side of the state and need an excuse to make it over there. Is their hard cider and wine worth the trip?

I'm late for checking in. Did everyone have a good day? It's beautiful over here on my side of the state...sunshine!

I haven't written anything else yet. I guess I need inspiration. Where's my Muse?

I hope you took the camera and have time to take some pictures, Eric. I love your photography and would love to see more posted. :)
