Miami Vice....

Is anyone planning on watching the movie?
I am a huge fan of the show. Don Johnson in his heyday & Philip Michael Thomas with those eyes.....

I think I might go. It is the same director who did Heat(loved it) & Collateral. It might be good, it might suck. Either way...Colin Farrell with no shirt? I'm in.

I LOVE Miami Vice.
That said I don't think it will be anything like the TV show.
However, even though it will not catch the mood and essence of the original it should still be like Heat and Collateral so should still be good, in a different kind of way then the TV show was.

I was kinda thinking the same thing, but wouldn't that be a little too Starsky & Hutch?

Miami Vice was NOT a campy corny TV Show. Vice at its best, when the director was really brainstorming and doing good rather then just filling a TV slot and collecting a check was dark and gritty but also colorful and glamourous and just as edgy for its day as NYPD blue would be a decade later.

I don't think it was campy. I just thought in typical Hollywood fashion they'd turn it into a campy, cheesy movie. Take a chill pill dude.

It's noting like the show. It's basically a police proceedural movie with the pacing of Heat and the cinematography of Collateral, with some really, really hardcore violence rounding it out. The killshots in this film are some of the best ever.
