McLaughlin posted a minute-long video online on Saturday talking about the new law set to take effect in July, in which most references to climate change have been nixed, and which no longer requires the Sunshine State to consider climate change when crafting policy. The Florida law also bars offshore wind turbines, streamlines the approval process for natural-gas pipelines, and strips out language allowing for state officials to set renewable energy goals.
McLaughlin slammed the law, which he says was put into place "in spite of the fact that the state of Florida, over the last couple of years, has seen record heat, record flooding, record rain, record insurance rates, and the corals are dying all around the state."
"'Don't Say Climate Change!'" McLaughlin wrote on X. "As Florida is on fire, under water and unaffordable, our state government is rolling back climate change legislation and language."
"We will never tell you who to vote for, but we will tell you this: We implore you to please do your research and know that there are candidates that believe in climate change and that there are solutions, and there are candidates that don't,"

Local TV weatherman in Florida is upset with the governor. We will continue to follow this breaking story as it develops.

If this guy is an example of forecasting it's no dam wonder they can't accurately predict the weather.

Mark did the weather in Charlotte NC for a while. God he was funny especially when he did a live act selling cars for a used car lot on Saturdays for a "short" while. He would bring in high school cheerleaders to be back ground dancers from the high schools. It was chaos. Great shit don't last long on PC TV

Says the weather guy, who cannot accurately predict the weather for tomorrow, let alone a week from today.

meanwhile, in Minnesota, Rapidan Dam failing:

"We do not know if it will totally fail or if it will remain in place, however we determined it was necessary to issue this notification to advise downstream residents and the correct regulatory agencies and other local agencies," the sheriff's office said.

An Xcel Energy substation located at the dam, which supplies power to about 600 customers, was washed away early Monday morning. The utilities company said its crews were working with local authorities to replace the destroyed substation and get power back to customers.

"The river level was already high from the large amounts of recent rainfall and moving fast when it diverted around the dam near the substation and flowed onto the bank," the company said in a statement.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Waltz spoke at a press conference Monday morning, where he noted that the state has received roughly 18 inches of rain over the last few weeks, saturating the ground and leaving the water nowhere else to go. There is potentially more rain incoming, he added.
