old homes are beautiful but a pain in the ass.

I hear that. The houses me and K like, when we're driving around looking at houses and stuff, are the more old fashioned ones. The ones with the porches, and the gables, and the old rose bushes, etc.

The older homes and styles just have a special something.

In Florida it is damn near impossible to insure a home older than 30 years. I would really love to buy an old house and fix it up but I can't figure out how to get it insured. I want something with gingerbread and character.

My house is about 200 years old. Its a very small white cottage with a white picket fence......very twee, but I love it.

I'm thinking of doing something like this for my driveway. I have a big circle drive with a small parking area on either side and between the circle and the streetside sidewalk there is a stone walled off area with trees in it.

Nice, want me to come help? I can sit under the umbrella and bring you ice cold lemonade when you start getting too hot. . .

Not to mention taking pictures of a hard working, sweaty Betticus and posting them here so all could see your. . .umm. . .progress!



In the more "historical" parts of town here all of the streets are like that. . .it's pretty cool.
