Recently stumbled on this 'movement' and am still trying to digest what it's all about. From one contest it makes perfect sense, from another it's pointless.

Got any thoughts on the subject?

It is a lot like TFL, only without the facial measurements and overt thirst.

I had to look it up. Oh, yeah, those guys. My thoughts are pretty much the same on every men's group- Why do guys need support groups? To do what they should do anyway? To get in touch with their feelings?

Oh well, I'll enjoy my life and the divorced dads and promise keepers and gorilla mindset men, etc. can do whatever it is they do and feel validated.

Shit's fucking retarded.

A special label for guys that need a gold star to feel special for adulting.

Deciding that it is perfectly okay to pursue one's enlightened self-interest should not need a label or a movement. One should just recognize what it is one needs out of life and pursue that while trying to minimize collateral damage with others.

From what I can gather of that sort of movement and similar movements is they seem to be necessary with people who were taught that what I stated above is not okay.

I'm not sure whether I was fortunate not to have been indoctrinated so improperly in that way or I just simply rejected the indoctrination.

Like a whole lot of online groups, there are elements of it that are pretty toxic. And elements of it that are less toxic, but still basically toxic. It's tempting to label everyone involved as an awful human being, but I suspect that a lot of them are in a great deal of pain, or suffering from significant mental health problems. All in all - it's a pretty crappy thing to exist. Ho hum.

Could someone please explain the website to me?

On one hand - Yes, these are valid issues.
We're living contradictory and confusing times.
On one hand, from what I understand sexual abuse and/or misogynistic attitudes are rife in Western countries. At the same time however, man's sense of masculinity seems to be under attack too, with workplaces and a society that both disempower and emasculate them, while judging them for not acting manly enough.

It must be tough for teenage boys - the forgotten and neglected group, given the high rate of suicide among them.

On the other hand - I wanted to peruse the site but I gave up soon enough, because it's so strangely written.
Sounded more like an ? Incel group?

The male movement (MRA) has been around in various forms for some time now.

There's a common theme amongst these people. Toss in botany and the picture is even more clear.

Yes, we ALL know, Luke. Heck, even those from other forums do.
You got laid, not long ago.

I came upon this article while trying to figure out what the 'movement' is all about.

Socio-Political Analysis of MGTOW.

Many of the observations the author makes reflect some of the opinions already posted in this thread.

I have a problem with the authors comments towards the end of the article. Most especially where he seems to swerve down the path of misogyny. While there are most likely some in the movement that hate women I just don't get the impression that that is what it's all about. There seems to be no effort to cause harm to women in anyway, merely a decision not to have anything to do with them beyond that which is absolutely necessary. A benign isolationism as opposed to an active effort to interfere.

Watching popular culture it seems a timeless truism that not only are women allowed to openly hate men but at the same time demand that men treat them with respect. Any man who talks about how he hates women and just *pulls at necktie* wants a little respect is a misogynist.

Any large organization of a "male only" political group dominated by white males (ethnic majority) will be fearfully attacked by the left, the establishment, and others, as racist, fascist, Nazi, and misogynist. Nothing would shake the foundations of the establishment more than a million males of any race showing up to express their displeasure towards anything political.

I was talking about the common misogyny and racism but your butthurt has been dually noted.

Luke, the titties bruiser, is accusing a woman of being a misogynist! Or a female impersonator! Or both, whatever.

#LukeLogic :D

You not knowing the difference between consenting adults having fun and the abuse of women surprises no one.

That's what you get when you barge in, making silly comments - you get silly responses.

But on a different note: the American and British gender wars are stupid.
Most other countries aim for cementing equality and eliminating pockets pf abuse, not for supremacy of one gender over another.

LUK using titties as a speed bag is a form of love, just ask him.:D

They can call all the names they want and I don't think it's going to make any difference. As a matter of fact it will probably have the effect of accelerating the movement. That twitter style shaming bullshit only works on women and teens.

There is going to be one deleterious effect re. women. Men will no longer mentor them in the workplace. But we discussed that when this whole #metoo movement got legs. Everything has unintended consequences.

Men are guarded around women in the workplace and in public. They will naturally develop defensive policies that will be detrimental towards women and their opportunities in the economy where men hold sway. Many businesses are writing policy that discourage one on one meetings between men and women without another member of management or a witness in the room. The senior partner of the legal group next to us told me every interaction between male management members and females are memorialized with a third person in attendance and many are recorded or videotaped. Sign of the times.

Are you shitting us?
Most countries don't have gender wars, they just make sure their women are in their place.

I always perceived the US as being very egalitarian, a lot more than other countries. Even more than PC Canada. I grew up in awe of it.

But the GB Leftists and Feminists paint an abysmal picture of the US, which is shocking to me because I never looked at things in that way before.

Everyday, without fail, you provide a somewhat coherently written post that confirms, unequivocally, just how depthless your ignorance is.

Keep up the good work hashie. :)
You are keeping your boy vetteman from consideration as the stupidest person posting.
But only just. ;)

That's because they have adopted a nihilistic outlook where the past is a recitation of endless crimes against humanity, the present is an indictment of systemic oppression and the only hope we have for the future is to allow the Left to impose a Utopia upon us.
