Messiah Complex (or: a Messiah by any other name...)

We get it that you don't like it and that you feel superior to the dolts who do. Youre okay and theyre not okay. My tested aptitude for visual-spatial pattern recognition is 96th percentile, prolly I can see things you cant even imagine (I ace those IQ tests where the questions are weird fucking shapes and I can fold-up flat patterns in my head and see what their 3 dimensional shape is). So maybe the fundies know something you don't. I think Jesus is nonsense but maybe I'm missing something. I'm still puzzled that PL ever found a mate. Nothing in my philosophy of mate selection accounts for it. Prolly a miracle.

How very condescending of you.

For the record, although my husband's family is of Christian descent, neither he nor any of his sisters were baptized, nor were they raised in an organized religion. He does not see the need for it, and it does not fit with him, although he has always been respectful of my views (and anyone else's if it comes up). This is not to say he's an atheist; he's probably more of an agnostic.

I'm just explaining and discussing my viewpoint on the topic, not saying I'm superior in any way to anyone. Its not my intention to say to anyone that I'm right and everyone else who believes differently is wrong. The superior ones have left the thread, and have refused to consider that people may have differing opinions. (Like they do in most situations.)

I have no idea about your ability to dissect someone's psychology, especially not from something they've typed on the internet, but PennLady seems like a poor choice to use. At least in the manner you have. So far, she's been the only poster that I've encountered that can actually hold a discussion that includes differing opinions on just about any topic imaginable, be it editing, politics, religion, or feedback for stories. She's the only one I've seen that can completely disagree with someone, but be mature and respectful enough to have a debate or discussion on something, rather than resorting to slap fighting and bickering. Much like she's shown here. Hat's off PL. And you're a hockey fan to boot.

Patient, respectful, plain and clear, good under pressure, and professional enough when dealing with tense situations. No, I certainly couldn't see why anyone would choose her as a "mate."

When communication fails, so too does everything, including talks between religious and nonreligious.
