Merry Christmas.
Most of my ilk will be eating Chinese food. However, my father watered down the gene pool so I will be eating brisket and homemade cinnamon rolls with the rest of ya. I'm happy bout it.
You know what I've always wanted to do? Go to a Christmas Midnight Mass. But I figure those are prime time seats for church goers and I wouldn't want to be in the way.

There is never any bar to a person wanting to attend Midnight Mass. It might not be the most comfortable seat in the house, but you will be welcome to attend (the Good Lord never turns away anyone).

As for Midnight Mass, maybe you didn’t go, but next year, just do it. It’s wonderful and very moving. We went last night so I’m running on about 2 hours sleep.

Enjoy! We've got homemade shortbread cookies and lemon bars here, so life is good. Alongside a tot of reinforced eggnog, with strong coffee to follow.
Then off to dinner (and possible family drama) with my folks. Let's just say that I really happy we're on better terms with our kids than my brother and nephew are with each other. I love them both - but there's times I'd like to whack 'em both with +3 Clue Stick.
I'd like to say "not my circus, not my monkeys." But they are, sorta. Even if I'm doing my best to remain a neutral party.

Yesterday actually wasn't bad. It was slow and steady all day but not crazy like the day before Thanksgiving.
We ran out of food to make though! They made 70-80 fruit and cheese trays and we sold out around 2pm. Ran out of romaine lettuce so we couldn't make any more salads.

That is cutting things pretty close the wire. We usually try to stock up at least a couple of days early, and order holiday specialty items like tamales or deli trays at least a couple of weeks beforehand.
