Years ago when I travelled a lot for work I did exactly that , panties most days but sometimes a bra or even some lingerie…. It was incredible and there was times when I did get inappropriate hatdons…. But never got caught…
 
I actually love a half slip.... sans panties.

Unless you are wearing a thong there is no gentle reminders that you are wearing (believe me, as someone in the closet that has just about busted me a dozen times when I went to undress) but swimming in the silky smooth material of a half slip as it swaddles your bits as you move about.... hmmmmm it puts a smile on ones face for certain.
 
A long time ago, I bought a hot pink thong from Walmart (the shopping itself was fun. No self checkout back then.) I wore it to an adult store where I bought some toys. The panties were peeking out a bit above my pants. A sleazy older man came near me as I was walking out and whispered something. He walked out after me and wanted me to follow him to his car, but I was too nervous. Super turned on though.

More recently (but still a couple of years ago), my wife took off her panties and rubbed them on me. One thing led to another, and I had them on. She at least pretended to get turned on by that. At some point she said that she was going to make me wear them to work someday. Diamonds. Alas, it never happened, and I've only worn them with her once or twice more.

I am mainly straight (yes, I had some experiences early on in my adulthood), but wearing panties in various situations is probably my biggest fantasy. Unfortunately mostly unfulfilled and likely to remain so.

I often wear lacy knickers when I go out, and I always make sure they're peeking out over my trouser waistband in case anyone is looking. No one has ever mentioned it yet, but I live in hope!
 
My everyday panties are microfiber bikini style and get a bit extra thrill when I'm wearing bright pink or other bright color. I do love to go shopping with a thong on. Feels sexier wearing something like that.
