This is just conjecture on my part, but I think it's got something to do with him perceiving himself as more desirable if she swallows. It can also increase the eroticism. Knowing she swallowed it (the few times it happened for me) was a turn on. Knowing she's going to spit it out would be a let down and I'd be unlikely to seek further BJ's from her in the future. It implies she doesn't like to do it. Now, I suppose if I was with someone and it was simply sex, with no emotional content involved, then yeah, she could gargle and shoot for distance for all I cared. i agree with you... but i don't think it's quite as deep as feeling desirable. i think it's just the erotic nature of swallowing, IMO.

true, as TBK suggested, the physical aspect is identical regardless of a spit or swallow conclusion.
