Memorial Day

November 11 here is Veteran's Day. We honor all of our Vets on that day. Memorial Day is more for honoring those Veterans who died in the service of their country. But they could add a third day as far as I am concerned. These fine people deserve all the respect that we can give them.

I've always thought some sort of official recognition should be given to the families of former and current military personnel. There was a piece on the network evening news tonight about the family of that US soldier captured in Iraq a few days ago whose body was just recovered. His agony is over, their's will continue for ages.

I have no need for a certain day to remember the Veterans. I have too many in my family to forget them.

The flag of my home nation flies in front of my home, as do the flags of the nations of my family members and friends.

An eternal candle burns in my living room.

I do not forget.

My new neighbor across the street has just fixe a nice Memorial are in his yard. He erected a flagpole and at the base he made a circular flower garden. it is quite lovely and tasteful.

Burning candles for them is also a lovely thing to do.
