If you're going to spend 10 Million plus on a helicopter please do the following

1.) Buy new, not used
2.) Maintain them. New oil ever 3000 miles, duders
3.) Don't buy the ones that have a tendancy to crash on their own.

I thought the helicopters we used in Afghanistan were bad, but geez.

I have no words that can express the strange mixture of feelings I have about the expensive as hell helicopter that killed Americans and Britis before even reaching Iraq.

Memo to Pentagon :

1. We are screwed. This is our Commander-in-Chief.

( we are still screwed.. but i corrected my error. )

He's doing his Horatio Nelson imitation.

Stop posting Anti-Bush pictures, the other people will start whining about it again.

;)

The government made it clear to the public that there WILL be US casualties.

And now we see why they were so sure.

Sixteen people died.

Most of the time you're funny, Spin. Then sometimes you're just a dick.

I'm not trying to be funny. I think if we're going to send our troops over, we should at least have them in hellicopters that work.

The last one wasn't even shot at. Our troops deserve better.

We had this problem in Afghanistan, too, and something should be done about it.

If I had any confidence at all that you knew what the fuck you were talking about, I'd take your opinion into consideration.

1. It's "Commander-in-Chief."
2. That's still a dumb picture.

It was an Apache helicopter that crashed, right? Well, wasn't it a Black Hawk that crashed not too long ago in the fierce battlefield of upstate New York? Could it may be that helicopters are not 100% absolutely safe forms of travel?

It was a Marine Corps CH-46 Sea Knight, similar to an Army Chinook.

Isn't that the model we used in to take the Delta force into Iran?

I'm not sure, but that is regarded as a very poorly planned operation during a time when the military was at an extreme low point in readyness.

The point here is that helicopters during battle sometimes crash and unfortunately people die. Making jokes about it shows a lack of class.

United States are pretty much fucked on international scene but I don't think this moron cares about this country at all

I'm tired, my brain is fried.. does anyone know the manufacturer of the helicopter that crashed?

Agreed.

Just to make it clear, I wasn't joking, I was wondering.

Today I recall that the ones in the hostage rescue were Navy Sea Stallions . Mine Sweepers that were chosen for their operating range as well as their passenger capacity. They had been modified for that mission by removing the screens from the air intakes to boost engine performance 3-4%, which proved to be a bad idea in the desert. As you said, poor planning.

My husband had the "pleasure" of riding in one of those helicopters (the one that crashed) from a Carrier to a Destroyer. When he noticed oil running down the side he mentioned it to one of the officers...who told him "when the oil stops leaking....then worry" well.....I guess the oil stopped dripping!

Boeing Helicopter makes the CH-46 Sea Knight. It's an excellent medium duty helicopter. It's been around since 1964. It was a work horse in Viet Nam.

Mechanical things break. If you happen to be inside that mechanical thing and you're not on the ground, you might die.

Spin, I've always liked you, so I cut you a lot of slack, but sometimes, you open your mouth and take a big bite of your own foot. A lot of people have a lot of emotion tied up in what's going on right now. Express yourself, but use your head for more than a hair garden.

enjoy the day.
