At one time, I heard there were preparations being made so that Lit members would have the ability to follow their favorite writers. For example, when a member's favorite writer posts a new story, then the member is notified.

Has anyone else heard about this?

Any idea when it might happen?

Thanks.

I haven't heard from the Web site that this is in the works. You could find out by PMing (Private Message--the system at the top right of this page) either Manu or Laurel. (And then you could let us know what the response is.)

Laurel mentioned a few weeks ago that they were working on a replacement for the favorites function that worked more like what you proposed, but no timetable was given for when it may be implemented.

Most likely it will completely replace the favorite author story function and the authors won't get that function anymore. But the readers will get notifications.

What the authors want/like never really seems to factor in.

For example the "bi-sexual category" that keeps getting discussed and Laurel had Stella Omega start a thread to gauge response. It got a great response and has been requested many times. You see it?

The last one I got a kick out of was a replacement for Earth Day which seems to be the least popular contest. A bunch of people weighed in with some good ideas. Which leads me to...

Believe we will see earth day again this year.

So to the OP, good idea, but don't hold your breath.

I have a mailing list I created through constant contact and use that (when I remember:eek:)
