Before I go to sleep and then start another night in the ER, I decided to open a thread for all the medical professionals out there. Nurses, doctors, respiratory techs, phlebotomists, nurse aids, radiology techs etc and whomever I forgot sorry you are all included.

I myself am an RN and hold a BSN and will work towards an MD. I used to charge a medical floor and now am where I belong. The ER.

Hopefully this thread will take off and all is invited as well as those who love nurses.
PS, ANy woman want a full body assessment ring me up <wink>

I am an acupuncturist where I belong, in my own clinic. Now I needle people for a living. am also an RN and work in neonatal intensive care. So I suppose I am Doctor nurse...

Doctor

Doctor me and let me nurse off of you sexy <wink> That sounds pretty interesting.
PS Check your mail

I am a nurse and hold a masters degree. I've worked in a variety of specialties and am currently happy working as a WOCN (otherwise known as an ET nurse).

Some people here would tell you that I'm a "head" nurse, though. ;)

My grandpa's in a nursing home right now, and I just want to say how good some of the aids are. I'm not sure if they're actual nurses or not, but they do a wonderful job.

I have to imagine that working in that environment, and staying so upbeat is hard on the soul.

Kudos to them.

I sell creams, pills, and ointments for crusty coochies, thermal mommas, and prego prevention.

Do I get to come to the party?

Marxist.... I hate crusty coochies. Anybody that sells anticootercrust cream is ok with me!!

BlondGirl.... we're ALL underpaid!:(

I was feeling poorly but with all these nurses here I don't think I have anything to worry about .:p

Only if you have free samples for the Lit ladies.

bcp are expensive- thank God for insurance that FINALLY covers them just like any other medication.

My high school /college job (only had one!) was working in a hospital on a surgical floor. It helped me to decide, if I had any doubt, that any job in the medical profession was not for me.

Nurses are underpaid and over worked. They also get ordered around by doctors like they are no better than dogs. No thank you! Doctors, on the other hand, have horrible hours. I don't care HOW much they are paid, it isn't worth it for the responsibility they shoulder and the hours they have to put in.

I'm very glad there are those of you who enjoy these jobs though. You're very important to the rest of us!

Unfortunately not everywhere. B.C. has less coverage than Viagra. Does anybody else think that's near-criminal?

A familiar story in reproductive medicine. Women and children aren't interesting to invest in. But, as soon as it comes to weinies, Congress is ready to fork over billions of dollars.

What about condoms?!

Don't you think that condoms should be covered by health insurance?

Hello, I work as an EMT and love it. It is one of hte best jobs in the world except for my future job when I get out of school as a firefighter.

Nursing Student

I will finish up first year in June......then on to RN in August ..
I can't wait for next May to get here.

I am planning to work ER... Worked as an AIDE/Unit Sec. for 4 years... and I loved it.

Wow

Alot of healthcare professionals. I myself believe aids are the best and get very over worked and under paid. I never wanted to take a job where I tell someone to do something that I cannot do myself. So I gave up a great job to be an aid. Then I was a tech. While studying my RN I challenged the LVN board and pased and worked as an lvn. Now I am an ER nurse after being a charge on medical. I also do agency. Now I am starting pre-reqs for MD,

To all you nurses, especially the ER nurses, listen to the EMT's, When a patient gets to you, they are all nice and packaged up and usually stable, when we first get to them in the field we have no idea whats going on. We find out, package them up, and drive them to the hospital. At one hospital The nurses are clueless and mean. I brought a 18 year old girl in who had difficulty breathing and was cold. The nurse said that all she was, was cold kind of meanly to the patient. I told her no her pulse ox when we got there on ambient air was 78, then 71. That shut her up.

my response

My response not meant in a bad way is that all fields have clueless people. I know a great many of clueless EMT's, Doctors, nurses and so on. This thread was to enjoy not to bring people down.

NO. I am not trying to bring people dwn, just soemthing for them to remember in their careers. It is jsut that one hospital that is like that, the other hospitals that we go to, they listen. I was jsut using that as an exampl. I have met many great nurses. so please don't think I was trying to put anyone down. Kepps the smiles going.
