Yep...that is me today, thanks to a "friend" (using the term loosely)

I had been searching for the perfect icon, as I was tired of my "doll". I found this one and fell in love with it. Felt it suited me perfectly, so I posted.

Lo and behold, this morning I find an email in my box from a "friend" (again used loosely)stated how shocked he was by my icon and how I "mislead" him and how this "stuff" didn't turn him on. How I had "gone over the edge" and obviously wasn't his friend anymore. Further emails stated that he had obviously "misread WHAT I was".

Okay, since when do "friends" pass judgement based upon a graphic and since when does my interest in D/s make me a "WHAT"? Damn, made me feel like a damn child molester or something.

What freaks me out is that my "interests" are plainly listed under my profile (which he has read) and how does someone on a porno site have the NERVE to be so judgemental over consentual SEX?

The ONLY person that this lifestyle choice affects is my husband...and so far no complaints there.

Never been so pissed off by the narrow-minded in my entire life. If I were a weaker person, I'd crawl back in the closet. However I'm not,so....if my lifestyle freaks you out...well....FUCK YOU!

FUCK YOU and...:D Have a nice day!

Baby, you will get NO complaints here...I love it when you are my little "slave".

Hey...little puss boy...don't knock it until you try it. :D

For what its worth... I love the icon, babe! But what's most important is that you love it.

bratcat....quote away, that is my favorite saying and I am happy to share it.

The fact that he searched the link to find out what it meant and then bashed me goes to the very heart of what pissed me off.

Remington....I just LOVE it when you get forceful. *weg*

Dillinger....now that is what a True Friend would say.
Thank you and *kiss*

Even though you know how I feel about D/s, I like the icon, but I also had no clue that that's what it meant. I wouldn't give your "friend" another thought, love.

I don't have any clue what it is supposed to mean, either. For what it's worth though, I find the spinning distracting. Catches the eye when you're trying to read. Any way to make it stand still? Or is that part of the meaning, having it spin like that?

LOL! I'm with Cheyenne - I don't know what it means either. The spinning does get me dizzy, though. What does it mean? (so I can be 'in the know')

brazenblaze if your so called "friend" judges you just because of you being into that, he/she isn't worthy of your friendship, that's just my 2 ¢.

I had a look at the site from where the icon comes, and found this:

The BDSM emblem has no "obvious" symbolism because it was created to be enigmatic. To the vanilla observer who would be put off by BDSM, it is merely an attractive piece of jewelry. Thus, we can wear it freely as a friendly salute, nod, and wink to other BDSMers we should happen to pass on the sidewalks and in the hallways of our daily lives.

To the insider, however, the emblem is full of meaning.

The three divisions represent the various threesomes of BDSM. First of all, the three divisions of BDSM itself: B&D, D&S, and S&M. Secondly, the three-way creed of BDSM behavior: Safe, Sane, and Consensual. Thirdly, the three divisions of our community: Tops, Bottoms, and Switches.

It is this third symbolism that gives meaning to the holes in each unit. Since BDSM is at the very least a play style and at its greatest a love style, the holes represent the incompleteness of any individual within the BDSM context. However "together" and "whole" individuals may be, there remains a void within them that can only be filled by a complimentary other. BDSM cannot be done alone.

The resemblance to a three-way variation on the Yin-Yang symbol is not accidental. As the curved outline of Yin and Yang represent the hazy border between where one ends and the other begins, so do the curved borders here represent the indistinct divisions between B&D, D&S, and S&M.

The curved lines themselves can be seen as a stylized depiction of a lash as it swings, or even an arm in motion to deliver an erotic spanking. The all-embracing circle, of course, represents the overlying unity of it all and the oneness of a community that protects its own.

Great, but does it have to spin? *my head hurts watching it*

Perhaps if he had a life he wouldn't be worried about the sex life of a married woman.

Hmmm... are you enjoying the sensation of your head hurting? *grin*

Seems to me that your friend was perhaps naive about your chosen lifestyle. He could have handled it differently and just said your choices were not to his taste.

Diversity is good and I make no judgements beyound that BSMD is not to my taste. Some of us "Vanilla" types have a different take on what your lifestyle is really about. However it does not give one the right to demean another's chosen expression of sexuality.

I will say that I hate that icon spinning of course I hate all those things anyway cause they are annoying and slow down my computer.

I'm over my rant this morning, can't believe I let the bastard push my buttons like that. It's like everyone said a true friend wouldn't pass judgement, would have just stated his opinion and moved on.

WriterDom: You are absolutely right, if he had a life he wouldn't be so worried about a married woman's sex life.

DriveSouth: Damn honey...that's the best offer I've had all morning....made my head spin. *smile*

I'm working on finding a way to stop it from spinning. I have a touch of a hangover this morning and see exactly what you mean about it making you dizzy. *lol*

Sneaking in...

Try taking it into your normal, everyday paintshop on your computer. Maybe you can save it as another form... if it's gif.. try saving it as a jpeg, or something. Just make sure when you save it, that you save it under a different name or something. No need to overwrite the original when you're not sure if it will work. *grins*

Just a thought...
