I want to take a course, but it requires a lot of math, and therein lies my problem: I operate on a fairly low level when it comes to math. I just never did "get it". I think if I could just get the hang of a few things, I can probably get the rest. I think I just need to get over a couple of mental blocks.

If anyone who is good in that subject (which would be just about everyone on Lit other than me) would be willing to help me out via PM or email, I'd be most grateful.

Thanks, DGO! Why didn't I think of that! lol You may have solved my problem!

You're welcome. I usually seek help and realize it was at my fingertips. Let me know if I can help.

Well, usually I head to Google first when looking for information. Don't know why I didn't think of it this time. Thanks.

uprocessor, thanks for the offer of assistance (assuming you're offering to help, that is...lol). I'm trying to figure out how online assistance works when you've got a student who is almost a dunce when it comes to math.

I think what I'm gonna have to do is go take a regular remedial course somewhere he in town, since I need to go just about back to the very basics, starting with fractions. No, I'm not kidding.

If you're doing physics-level stuff, I'll see if I can dredge-up a few '.edu' tutorials and courses that I've run across in the past couple of months.

I like this site. I'm going to add a link to in on my site!

Kind of a one-stop-shop recommendation. ;)

My 3rd grader can do multiplication drills, and my HS Junior can cover the calc that's being taught this year.

I teach English, but I add links for my students to other subjects. This looks like a really good one.

for you ringing endorsement. my theory on what makes a good teacher is actually quite simple. one, know your subject. two, you must like people. i score high on both questions...au revoir
