I have in the past suggested many types of phallic looking veg as well as a condom with frozen peas tied off to keep it rigid (it is worthwhile putting them wrapped in a cylinder shape in the freezer first to form the shape before putting the condom on)- the peas are amazingly knobly and the coldness adds a whole new dimension! 
Also chocolate can be fun especially Mars bars.. the only thing is you do need to be careful for if it breaks off! I recommend putting it in the fridge for a while first.
Household items, well the only limit is your imagination! Hairbrush handles, phones, kitchen utensils, tv remotes, game controllers (especially if the game is playing and making it vibrate) and even the bed knob have been used in videos I have seen! I also utilise the shower head and certain shaped shampoo and shower gel bottles can add to the fun.
Oh and a proper sex toy or two never goes amiss either.
