...perhaps a room with a view...?

ok ugly weather? YES

melting the snow :) so its ok

where the fuck did the snow go???? huh???

I've had so much fucking coffee in the past few days that I'm starting to get paranoid. ugh.

glad I dont have to live in the dorms at UMass...they're sssoo horrible!

only down side to living in town is that I have to figure out what to do with my car until april 1st...this place sucks! lol

dammit, there is nothing to do tonight, why does everyone have to be so busy!

The only thing good about mass...

When you consider that the bars close at 1:00 am. You can't buy liquor on Sunday. The weather sucks pretty much all the time. The only thing good about New England is the skiing and the patriots. Otherwise Its a gigantic waste of good real estate.

you can buy alcohol on a sunday. Greenfield Mass...about 8 miles from Amherst. and bars in Noho close at 2.
besides, people should be grown up enough to realize that getting trashed is lame. only people under 21 should have to do that.

Its more about the repression

Mass is famous for its repression of what it thinks are bad things. Alcohol and the like. Staying out past 1:00 isn't about getting trashed... (I agree those days are past me) its about being able to stay up late and have things to do. Former Miami resident and things are just happier there. People are nice and there's always something to do. At 11:00 1:00 even 3 or 4 am.
Mass, you just have to go home.

getting trashed is only lame if you have nothing better to do, or nothing good to do afterwards

you can always go to someone's house and have quality conversation about how to change the world. they don't do that in miami because none of them are legal citizens and allowed to vote...
Plus, Maimi is not a center of education, culture, history....
you at least have that in Massachusetts

not true

Miami is definately a center for culture. They have so many different cultures there it has to be. Its considered the international center of the world. As for education... U of Miami is top 50, its not as good as the schools up here... but its not bad. History... well once you get past ponce de leon... yeah its lacking. But they just have a different perspective down there. Up here you are more likely to have someone flip you the bird than wave hello. I've lived 24 of my 31 years here and honestly the folks are nicer down there. I just wish there was more openness up here... rather than the closed minded folks you run into on a daily basis.

Closeminded? The Cuban immigrants are technically some of the most conservative people in the country. And...as far as "international center"....somehow I don't think Miami when I think international city of the world. I think London. Brussels. Hong Kong. New York. Miami isn't even in the top 10. Just because it's a 30 minute swim from a dictatorship and our government gives preference to Cuban immigrants as opposed to people from countries with truly horriffic human rights records because cuban americans are a big voting bloc....that doesnt make it an international city. The tacky architecture, maybe. But even Berlin beats it there.

Hmmmm...morning all! Seems a lively conversation has been going on about the City of Miami and our chilly state. Having lived in MA most of my year (Iwill not tell you how many!..trying to remember?) and having vacationed numerous times in FL including MIami I feel Miami is a great place to go for an extended vacation but not to live. At least not fulltime. Ocean sun and fun is great but when it comes down to it Boston is better. Traffic sucks true...no parking...but more culture, historical treasures and architecture. Miami is new and...uninspiring. But Bod is correct about people being more open and friendly.

Now I will sit back and watch. Hope I don't doze off as my cold kept me up almost ALL night...

I think I'm finally getting over the little cold I had. It ended up only being a sore throat, congested nose, and a little coughing. I think the peak of it was when I had had enough sleep, but was still so tired. I was a lucky one, my roomie had it worse than me, and everyone before her had it extremely bad. Ahh, dorms, just like my hometown high school. When one person gets sick, everyone gets sick. Oy.

Yeah. I had the same thing, and now my roommate has it, I'm just lucky I didn't catch the flu my RA has.

The flu? That really sucks. I find it painfully ironic and stupid that flu vaccines are wider distributed now, but they still don't have enough for everyone. What's the point of having flu vaccine clinics everywhere when you don't have any vaccines to give?

Well, they do have enough for everyone, it's just a matter of not knowing how many flu vaccinations any one place will give, when they run out, they need to get more. It doesn't mean there isn't enough, just not enough at the time. I guess i'm really luck though, I was suppose to get my shot yesturday but ended up not. mmmmm, now it's off to the lovely dc to see what gourmet food i can choose not to eat.

soon enough you'll be finished college and long for the days of Freshman year. I do...regularly...

Well, I don't know about freshman year, but I certainly am enjoying myself. I just get a little discouraged when I get Po-Zen Wong for two semesters in a row. If you've ever had him for physics, you know what i mean.

I never took a physics class...ever. including high school.

I'd rather never have to think about that!

I have to take physics next year for my pre-med requirements, so I am quite excited. I'll try to remember the name in case I get him myself.

The only really good thing that I can think about my physics class in high school was that my teacher was very attractive. Most of the females in the building, teacher and student, liked to oggle him. Heh.

Yes....I recall my freshman year lit teacher...only just out of college. Used to like to sit on her desk and leaned forward alot. *eg* Got a few peeks up her skirt and down her shirt. Hard to leave class sometimes with a thrbbing erection! lol
