mass?

Morning everyone...*looks out window* rain now ice later....lovely. How are things out Amherst way?

BP Missed you last night...you do take nice long showers though!
*w* How are things this AM? I am about to go out and grab a bite and some java as well. Catch you later today.

HL

...perhaps a room with a view...?

my office has an OK view....its not a parking lot. lol.

i have my coffee here....Costa Rican, i think. it's not so hot now though :(

back to writing....15 more pages to go!

I love the view from the towers. That's one thing I'll miss during break. I'm lucky enough to have a view with the trees and all the hills behind them. It's a lot better than just a view of another tower or of the campus. It's clear outside now, but it's really windy and it looks like it sprinkled a bit.

I used to be a morning person, sort of, during high school when I had to get up at 5:45. Of course, normally I was going to sleep between 1 and 2 in the morning anyway, with essays and lab papers and the like. At least twice I was up till 4 doing a physics paper. As soon as I'd get to bed, it felt like my dad was entering the room and waking me up (he was my alarm clock). Now that I don't have to get up too early, I usually don't, but next semester all my classes start around 9, so that mean up by at least 8 or so.

Good morning HL, and I hope you enjoy your java today! (You guys are the only ones who I know who call it that, other than my parents. I think most people don't know about that name, or something. *shrugs*)

I usually just say "I have to go buy some crack now" but with Ashcroft listening in to everyone, I think it's best to use normal terms.
I think most views on campus are pretty ugly. There are only a few beautiful buildings - the old science ones. Most of the things here look like a socialist experiment. Where I went to undergrad, there was that bad mix too - we had a strange mix of gothic and soviet. go figure.

Ashcroft...*shudder*

Well, I'm excited now because I get to walk to my class in the beautiful little rainstorm that's going on. Rain + wind = unhappy undergrad. Ah well, it's the last class of the semester and I need the info for my final essay thingy.

Morning ladies.... *smiling at both*

CG Yes, java is a word that seems to be lost on your generation...pity. Did you get my post to you the other day? *eg*

BP At least you have a view. I look over the lovely parking lot with all the cars and discolored snow...guesse it beats the heck out of the cell of my namesake in the movies though! Unfortunately I missed my op to get out for that cup and I am in withdrawralls now because of it. The coffee at work is horrid and i wouldn't force anyone to partake of it...*fowl smirk*

CG Be thankfull it is rain...later it will probably be an ice rink unless the weatherpeople are correct for once!

BP yes...no style in these 'new' buildings, at least the ones they were building. Does kind of have that socialist feel to them. I prefer a nice mediterranean style, course I would prefer to be in the nice Mediterranean too! *looks out the window shaking my head*

except I've been to former 'socialist' countries, and other than Moscow (which is still beautiful in its own way), they all have beautiful achitecture because they are so old.
Plus, shouldnt the US want to avoid looking communist?
i like campuses that retain architectural integrity...like Amherst College or Princeton. somewhat similar throughout the whole campus, even the new buildings.
what the hell is this art center here? YUCK!

You're absolutely right, HL, it probaby will be an ice rink. I'd like to think that by that time I'll be all safe and cozy back in my li'l corner room, but I still have Christmas shopping to do, and I should go to the Bio review this afternoon. I hate ice.

Since generations loop around all the time, I wouldn't be surprised if my gen's kids call it java or joe (which is more well known by my gen because of that damned box o' joe).

I just looked back to yesterday's posts because I didn't notice your post to me yesterday. :( I've read it now though. :)

Yeah, the FAC is pretty ugly, although I love the theaters inside. I have to say, though, I love the FAC simply because I'm a band kid. My tuba section leader's t-shirt (she was a music ed major) said it best (this may be slightly paraphrased, but the last part is true): "Le FAC: Elegance, sophistication, and a room without a view" :D

hehe yeah - it's like "lets make a building that, should the Russian's invade, the KGB would love to set up shop in!
And now what about the library? The tallest? Need more than 3 books? be prepared to walk up and down stairs! smart way to do a library, huh?

Communism...socialism, all the 'ism's are dead. Failed beliefs and rituals that have been sent to the recycle bin of history. The only two 'ism' left are remmnants of the two previous, terrorism and fanatacism. *looking out for the bad guys...and girls* *g*

ya think? Last time I checked there were gorilla groups throughout the country fighting (terrorising) in the name of Marxism....

anyway....heavier rain now....think i shouldn't stay on campus after the class I TA! will be crappy out!

Yeah it's raining harder. When I got out of my class, I didn't really want to walk back to my dorm. But I'm so happy because I've found out that the final exam essay in that class is optional if we're happy with our current grade. I think I'm doing well, but we'll see after 5PM today. :)

morning everyone. now that it's raining harder here, i get to go to class, maybe it wasn't such a good idea starting class at 2:30 in the afternoon. it's such a lazy day today, i'm just sitting around listening to pink floyd looking out the window watching it rain. all i need now is a fireplace and i'll be all set.

and college, if i'm not mistaken about the tower you're in, i'm in the same one :)

Pink Floyd is always the way to go! Unless you're watching The Wall. I've only seen clips and I'm already freaked out. Talk about philosophical discussions.

And the tower...would that be JA or W?

I completely forgot about JA, wow, i must be slipping in my old age, i'm pushing it here at 19!

Hahahaha! Because 19 is just so old. I assume since you forgot JA that you're in Washington as well. You know...now that I think about it, I think everyone forgets JA. It kind of hides from the rest of the towers. :D

Yeah, i'm starting to count down the years. And yes, i'm in Washington. Well, it looks like the rain is on my side today, just stopped, so now i can walk all the way across campus without getting wet, yippee!

Hello everyone...back from lunch and the rain is falling fast and furious here! Soaked running from the car to the building...an astounding 30 yards! lol

CG Good for you, glad you could skip some work at the end of the semester. I hope you enjoy the RotK. The first two were awesome. I read the three books several times when I was younger...another lifetime ago for me! By the way sent you a PM.

Good afternoon to everyone else here! I see BP is offline, must be conducting her class or running for her room! *thinking perhaps that she'll have a nice hot cup of java...hmmmmm*

Hmmmm.....*rubbing chin and looking at the ceiling*

Action/Adventure mostly.
Sci Fi/Fantasy

ALL the Hannibal Lector movies of course...*eg*

Sometime I like those funny romantic comedies if I'm with someone who can keep my interest...both in the movie and her!
Well, I'm off for the day. Catch you tommorrow! Bye.
