MAMDANI WINS! ESTABLISHMENT DEMS, SEXUAL PREDATORS LOVING MAGA TAKE A HIT

Name three.
Larry Summers and House Reps. Tom Suozzi and Laura Gillen have blasted him. Kathy Hochul, Kirsten Gillibrand, Hakim Jeffries, and Chuck Schumer are hedging, especially in light of comments he made over the weekend. They want “clarification.”

I have already acknowledged that the slogan was a dumb move on the left's part (and not for the first time). In any event, that is not what "defund the police" means; it means shift the burden of some of their services to people who are better qualified to do them, like social workers and drug counselors.
That's as nieve an idea as anyone can come up with. What is a social worker supposed to do with a mentally ill person WITH A GUN?

I doubt this will help convince you all of anything but all Indians eat with their hands regardless of class. Pretty sure Mamdani is Indian.

he's Indian-Ugandan, and I have no idea what you mean to imply by the 'eat with their hands' comment.

Most Americans eat primarily with a single fork, and then their hands... pizza, tacos, hotdogs, fried shit on sticks....

It’s not an implication or anything. Traditional Indian families from the nation of India don’t use cutlery. They use their hands to eat their meals. I know he was born in Uganda but his parents are traditional Indian.

Yes he’s American but I think it’s him embracing his Indian culture by eating with his hands. I’m not making fun. You can google it if you’d like.

As the MAGAts are busy passing laws to specifically allow mentally ill people to have unrestricted access to guns, that question is moot.

There are so many people with guns who shouldn't have one, that I can't express my anger at ANYBODY who would say this is acceptable. I carried a weapon for 4 years as an Air Force policeman, and haven't touched one since getting out in 1970. Wait, one of my good friends took me shooting with his .22 automatic once in 2011.

I don't know or care if you're serious about this. But just to be clear, the situation you describe would still call for involving the police. As I've explained repeatedly, despite its name, "Defund the police" does not call for eliminating them.

I understand how many Indian families eat meals, but I don't understand why you brought it up at all  Unless you're responding to posts I'm not seeing.

Look very closely at the Seattle Police Department, PLEASE! After the George Floyd murder, 2/3 of the city council DEMANDED that the police be defunded. So many officers quit plus the ones who were fired due to lack of funding, that for several years, there were 500+ openings that went unfilled. It has taken over 3 years of aggressive recruiting to lower that number to about 250. Defend my ass.

Hope Walz was excited over Mamdani's win, and said so on TikTok...

While discussing Mamdani’s primary win in a segment of “The Ingraham Angle” on Thursday, Ingraham pivoted to Hope, as a clip of her TikTok video played on air. The network clipped Hope listing off examples of “popular” progressive policies, such as “feeding kids lunch, providing child care, having accessible and functional public transportation.”
this teed ingraham up for a comment which she probably thought sounded smart but came across as a very telling confession
“You just lost about 100,000 brain cells watching that soundbite,” she said, speaking directly to the camera in response to the clip. She then appeared to boast that President Donald Trump’s election victory in 2024 is proof that his voters don’t widely care about those issues (like “feeding kids lunch”).

“Sweetie, if they were popular everywhere, Trump would not be president,”
she said.

Hope had a brilliant response:
“There are people that are willing to come on national TV, [and] with their whole chest admit that they don’t care about feeding kids, or helping people get to work, or providing child care for people that are reproducing and creating our country and [world’s] future.”

“Genuinely, I feel sad,” she said. “I don’t know how you go through your day just not caring about other people.”

Sounds like the problem is the officers who quit. Maybe ask yourself why they felt compelled to quit - could it be because they felt they could no longer abuse people with impunity? Like it or not, that is a depressingly common occurrence, and it's a problem that needs to be addressed.

Stop pretending you give a damn about cops when your master pardoned criminals who cracked their heads. Oh but that's different?

They shouldn't be allowed to harass and beat people without punishment. Ignorant.

The majority of those who quit were sick and tired of constantly being shit on by the city council. Also, there were others who were told they would be laid off, so they quit ahead of they layoffs.

And why were they shit on?

Cause they couldn't treat people like animals?

NO, because the anarchists on the city council didn't want ANY police. Yes, the SPD weren't angels, but they were far better than nothing.
That’s a gross oversimplification. Wanting police reform is not the same as wanting no police. Many of those folks you call "anarchists" pushed for accountability, better training, and community investment, not chaos. SPD had serious issues (some admitted by their own leadership), and people were right to demand better. The false choice between "abuse" and "anarchy" is just fearmongering, something your dear leader loves to do.

If you don't live in Western Washington and are getting your information from the media, I dare say you just might not have the correct perspective. Both my parents were born in Seattle. In 1914 and 1919. Me, born here in 1946.

Another of the "Bernie Sanders" generation of people who never work. They just think the 1%'ers should support them.
Aren't you just about the same age as Bernie? I'm a generation younger, & I've worked all my life. Thankfully, I've had the opportunity to find work I enjoyed. That's become a more & more difficult thing to do. I feel for the generations that have been coming up behind me.
