That’s what you got out that little squabble. Well if that were the case, which it isn’t, but if I had to pick one I would much rather deport a communist activist over attacking an ICE agent doing their job protecting American citizens.
The average per k-12 student is $17,277, not exactly bare bone spending. NY spends an average of 33k per student with mixed results. The unions don’t actually receive funds but they do influence the quality of education in a negative way. The Covid debacle for instance. The department of education sucks 2.5 billion out of the education budget for being the middle man in a corrupt system. When’s the last time a democrat congress cut spending on anything.

It’s definitely a gift to the GOP, and there are certainly many Democrats wisely distancing themselves from him. If it were just the AOCs and Bernie’s of the party backing him, it wouldn’t be a big deal. But he’s getting endorsed by mainstream Democrats like Clinton. That really does frame him as an acceptable Democrat. Not a great time for the party.

If he is calling to defund the police, how do you interpret that? If the police have NO funding how do they exist? Seattle went through the same shit while the City Council was filled with anarchists, and are still.over 250 officers short. A typical 911 response time can be as long as 90 minutes. Criminals are very aware of that fact.

I have already acknowledged that the slogan was a dumb move on the left's part (and not for the first time). In any event, that is not what "defund the police" means; it means shift the burden of some of their services to people who are better qualified to do them, like social workers and drug counselors.
