LOL should be, she put up with me for almost 4 years before tying the knot.
It means that the VA will just owe me $$ until they finally update everything, has nothing to do with the legality of the marriage.

The new year is still pretty new, and I'm still contemplating the things I'd like to change this year. I don't make resolutions - no one ever keeps those - but I've started on a journey that I began last fall, trying to identify and repair some of the things about myself that I've been living with too long to be healthy.
I got out of an unhealthy relationship, started going to a support group, started therapy to help me pull out of a tailspin (at the suggestion of an awesome and caring friend who could see, when I couldn't, that I really needed it), and learned which friends i could turn to and which ones I couldn't. I've changed how I interact with my family, my ex, my kids...but I haven't changed enough about how I treat myself and haven't forgiven myself nearly enough for my mistakes.
Those are tough things to admit. I've always thought I was really strong, and admitting to myself that I couldn't do everything on my own was really difficult.
This year, I'm going to let go of obsessing over some of my flaws. They are part of me, and I don't have to be perfect. I'm going to stop overthinking everything - some things just are the way they are, and I'm not going to constantly pick at them. And I'm going to TRY - try, Blu, TRY - to stop stressing out so much about things that I can't control.
I know Blu is shaking her head right now and laughing out loud, because she knows she's going to have to yell at me and remind me to relax. But she's a great friend, and I know she'll do it for my own good.
So here's the cover...
What are going to change about yourself? What are you unhappy with in yourself, and how are you going to make 2014 the year that you learn to like YOU? Even if you already do, everybody has things about themselves that they don't like. Things that pull them back from being who they want to be??

Nothing really - I guess want to drop another 6lbs to reach my target weight. And get a job. And a nice lady. Not necessarily in that order.
Ah actually, I did say today I was going to cook more this year and learn some new dishes and styles. I've been eating so clean the last year I've forgotten how to cook.

You have a great set of goals for 2014. They'll be tough but should pay huge rewards. I myself have a number of personal goals, the largest to be less self critical and less negative thinking. They're too easy to do and they can be habit forming. On the good side I enter into 2014 lighter than I entered into 2013 so I have less work to do in that department!
Now we can keep each other on track for our goals. That settled i'll have a Manhattan straight up if Blu is working the bar.

Waiting for the snow to stop. Guess it will be here in the morning to clean up.

Right now I think I'll be glad if I can wrap up this stuff with the VA and make it into the next semester lol. Beyond that, eh got lots of work to do around this place so maybe that will help me to cut off a few pounds.

Ok seriously now. I don't exercise enough as I have let my condition (epileptic) cause me to become a bit of a shut in. I have to change that and get out more.
Would like to get back to drawing a bit more too. Used to do it a lot but have allowed things to distract me. So to this end I would like some thoughts on what to draw. What is everyones favourite animal (can be anything including fantasy animals) or does anyone have a request of something they would like done?
