Mama Blu's

Blu, you mentioned Tequila the other day. This here is a favorite cocktail . .

Guadalajara Sour
In a cocktail shaker combine
2 oz. white tequila
3/4 Oz lemon juice
3/4 oz. simple syrup

Shake and pour over ice in a highball glass

Then holding a spoon over the liquid in the glass pour 1 oz. or so of Rose wine onto the spoon to 'float' the wine on top of the other liquid.

It's an attractive cocktail and a refreshing alternative to a Margarita.

Missed the cover charge for last night, but I will take a double shot of southern comfort with a side of mountain dew. The reason I am drinking last night and tonight is due to my grandma going into rehab after being in the hospital for knee replacement surgery.

Cover Charge Sun. 11/24

Ugh... what a day! So many things happened and I am not sure which is applicable here. [laughs]

One thing did stand out though, now that I am thinking about it. We got into a discussion about high school and friends. How difficult it can be to find your niche sometimes and how what seems important at the time ends up being forgotten about as we get older.

So many of the things that I was thought were so important, so necessary, have been lost in the fog of my memories. However I still have my best friend to remember them for me. Good thing too because I have a horrible memory.

So.... question for tonight... do you still talk with your best friend from high school? Did they actually turn out to be a BFF (Best Friend Forever)?

Hiya, BOB!

I do still talk to my best friend from high school! She has traveled quite a bit since then - she's lived in Italy, Nicaragua, Dominica, Greece, Australia, and Egypt, and all over the US, but we've never lost touch. Sometimes, we go for months without talking, but when we catch up again, it's exactly the same as it was twenty years ago.

The highlights of the last couple of years for me have been to go up and visit her where she lives now, about six hours away. And a few years ago, when we'd been friends for twenty years, we got matching tattoos on our toes. I love her to death - she knows all of my secrets and never lets me forget every embarrassing stupid thing I've ever done, but she still makes me feel great every time I'm with her.

Beer please - a super cold one, I have to wait a few minutes before I can drink it.

How's that?

And how was your day today, Banana? :rose:

It's been busy! Would have preferred a nice and easy laze around in bed kind of Sunday. :(

Are you prepared for Thanksgiving?

I had that last night....AND this morning ;)

I don't have to do much for Thanksgiving - the kids are going to their dad's house, and I'm going to a friend's....all I have to do is make one casserole for my dish to pass, and I'm good to go.

Are you making dinner?

We do it kind of potluck. Thanksgiving will be at sister's, but I am responsible for bringing a few dishes. Something I am not necessarily thankful for. [laughs]

At least you don't have to do it all yourself!!

I'm not even putting mine into a real dish - disposable, so I don't have to clean it, and I don't have to remember to bring it home with me once I've had a couple of drinks. ;)

What are you making?

What are you making?

corn pudding....it's a misnomer, though - it's not really pudding. It's more like really moist cornbread, but it has green pepper and onion and cream cheese in it. mmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

And I'll probably bring an appetizer - brie on toast with apple slices and walnut syrup.

Oh that does sound good! Share the recipe?

In one answer no I don't, but he gave me a son who I talk with on a regular basis. He is resembles him so does that count? Can I get a double shot of Southern Comfort and Mountain Dew?

How does a Southern Dew sound?

1 oz Southern Comfort® peach liqueur
1 can Mountain Dew® citrus soda
1 handful ice

Basically put ice in glass, add 1 oz. southern comfort, then fill glass with mountain dew.

Cover Charge Mon 11/25

Hey y'all!

Sorry to be late with the cover. Things have been crazy around here today. I had to make cupcakes for son's class party. Ugh. But I currently have 72 mini cupcakes baking away in the oven.

Which, yes, does bring me around to my question. Hubby and I were arguing over what is the perfect cupcake. He claims that nothing beats yellow cake with chocolate frosting.

What do you think? Are you a red velvet kind of person? A chocoholic, perhaps?

What is the perfect cupcake/frosting combo for you?

Blu

Hello Miss Blu I guess my favorite is funfetti and butter cream frosting.
I need the strongest thing that you have for a let down.
