Malware found on Thread

On the "New Author's Beware: Scouries and his contests are fake. Keep bumping this thread", when trying to access it, I receive a warning from Google Chrome that it's been infected by "muslimsexweb.com". When clicking on "Advanced" button and following the link, this is what comes up: http://safebrowsing.clients.google...._arab_sex_32.jpg&client=googlechrome&hl=en-US.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

The last time something like this happened it was because someone (actually scouries I think) inserted a photo taken from a malware infected site bringing the sick puppy into the thread with it.

What's up Br'er Rabbit?

I'll try it, but I believe it could've been inadvertently infected by images taken from the internet (instead of one's image hosting site, which people should do}.

Thanks for the response, jomar. Will let you know how it works out.

Have you tried accessing the thread?

Try it on another browser.

Not showing up on IE. I don't know if that's a good thing, though. In my past experience, IE is pretty unsecured. Then again, I didn't log in to my account when I accessed Bulletin Board on IE. It appears that it only shows there is a malware infection when logged in on Google Chrome.

Scouries is all kinds of fun, isn't he? Bad British humor, I guess.

Have you sent a PM to the Web site administrator, Manu? Despite its rules, the Web site tolerates Scouries (and others) posting stolen copyrighted material on this forum. Maybe Manu will wise up, crack down, and maybe even give Scouries the boot.

My Google Chrome browser isn't picking anything up or blocking me on the anti scouries thread. There are a couple of pics and gifs floating around on the current page.

I would suggest, Candlelight, seeing if you can get on a previous page or so of the thread which would isolate that your browser security setting is picking up something on the current page.

Definitely let the powers that be know via PM that your chrome found something there that it didn't like.

No, I haven't. I wanted to be sure it wasn't just my browser (Google Chrome). jomar advised me to try opening another browser, and I have. It's not doing it on IE, but I wasn't logged in on IE so maybe that could be the cause.

That said, I'm still not sure if other people are experiencing the same problem. Until I do, I'm not going to bother Manu.

This isn't the first time scouries has posted an image from a malware infected site, and it won't be the last. They didn't even remove the image last time.

You'll have better luck hoping the troll gets a nasty virus that makes his computer unuseable than expecting the site to do anything about it. Far more likely probability.

Yet another reason to put him on ignore. Eventually, one of those images will be carrying a payload, and if it's blocked by ignore, you'll be one of the safe ones.

Sad, but true, the site has no issue with someone's computer being put at risk, but.....

Don;t you dare write about two 16 years olds blowing each other kisses!

Well, I've sent Manu a PM and a screenshot of the page that opens when I try to access that thread. Here's how it looks like:

I hope he'll do something.

I do roll my eyes when posters say how good this Web site is about challenging other sites concerning stealing stories from here and yet tolerates copyright theft right and left--both in images and prose--on this forum. In publishing, can't get much more hypocritical than that. Literotica has a rule about it--it just doesn't enforce it even when stolen copyrighted material is reported. All it would have to do is erase it from the forum, but it can't be bothered to do even that.

Much as I can't stand the village idiot, I can't tell if it was his photo that triggered the Chrome Malware defense this time.

The last time it was his photo that wrecked havoc, and, honestly, I would love to see it be his photo again but as Dark points out, it won't matter anything in the long run. The idiot flagrantly lies to the point he makes Jodi Arias seem honest, makes a mockery out of contests, and misrepresents the site yet nothing happens.

Sad really, this site has so much potential and use to be really great. Now I wouldn't touch the GB with a ten-foot pole; I enter the contests strictly for the camaraderie and banter, and limit my presence to a couple of threads in the AH along with having a few on ignore as I can't stand the bullshit.

I checked it in IE, Firefox, and Chrome and didn't see anything. Firefox just gave me a similar warning yesterday on another site. However:

http://google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=muslimsexweb.com/

What is the current listing status for muslimsexweb.com?

Site is listed as suspicious - visiting this web site may harm your computer.

Part of this site was listed for suspicious activity 4 time(s) over the past 90 days.

What happened when Google visited this site?

Of the 480 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 4 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2013-04-08, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 2013-04-05.
Malicious software includes 9 scripting exploit(s).

Once posted, and then directly hyperlinked, the image link could be changed at any time by bad actors to point to a virus download. I showed scouries that when he repeatedly hyperlinked to an image on my server. I changed it to point to an image with an anti-scouries message, which he then was displaying on multiple threads for a while until he figured it out.

It could have just as easily been a virus I changed it to. When you're indiscriminantly horking pictures from questionable sites, it's eventually going to happen.

It doesn't matter if it's malware or not. It's all copyrighted material that he's posting, it's against the rules to do so here--for very good reason on a writer's site--and the Web site just ignores it.

I just tried it on a recently updated Google Chrome browser and did not get that message.

I've just done a deep sweep with System Mechanic spyware and malware just three days ago. Twice. And I'm clean.

I've just tried again, and I'm still getting the warning. If I respond to a notification that links to the thread, I have no problem. It's only when I try to access it directly from the AH list when that page pops up.

Thanks for trying, MagicaPractica.

I'm simply baffled.

I've peeked into the GB last week - and never went back. Holy moly. Lots of opinionated people there. And nasty, too. Dayum.

Well, I'll just have to use an old link to get into the thread and bump it. :)

Thanks so much, litfan.

Four threads I can find on the forum that all display the warning in Chrome when visited, and all triggered by an image scouries has posted. ( searched for the offending site name and limited the search to the Lit forum )

The thread in question is one of them, and I see the warning when I click there from Google, rather than browsing the thread directly.

Dunno if this relates to the current problem, but I'm using Google Chrome and I'm gettin' a pop-up in the lower right corner of my screen telling me that various women are calling and do I want to answer. Well, no. :(

I can't seem to get rid of it and it's only on this site. I'm tellin' Manu about it and I wondered if anyone else has been bothered by this.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Get it, run it ( free download, fully functional. Paid version just has bonus features such as automatic updating )

You've got some sort of browser hijack going on, and Malwarebytes will chew it up and spit it out.
