Today my wife and I painted the floor in the middle of the trailer. Oh what a beautiful job it was, not a drop out of place. Not a drop where we didn't want it. Then came the herd.

They ran through the still wet paint and onto the Kitchen Floor. Along the way they banked off a short wall, leaving their paw prints on this wall. Well these paw prints are high enough up the wall to be visible. I grabbed a sponge and turned to the wall. There in front of me were several smears as well as five distinct sets of nearly perfect prints. I washed off all smears but left the perfect prints in place.

Smokey on the other hand stays in the bedroom. She is still incontenant but things are getting better. She allows us to place her in the litter box twice a day. Because of this she has not left any surprise gifts for us in well over a month. (We have had to ban one of the kittens, Magellin, from the bedroom when we aren't home. He is too aggresive and keeps trying to attack Smokey if he thinks he can get away with it.)

You didn't really expect to get away with an unmarked paint job with heffalumps in the house did you??

Oh Heaven forbid that I d anything without the herd making it's mark. However I wasn't expecting them to put their mark on the wall.

Pictures, please.
Of what? The Paw Prints? I took several but I'm not sure if they will come out. If not then I'll try again.

If you're talking about pictures of the cats, well I did post some earlier last week.

I saw the cats' pictures. One of my cats died over the weekend and I'm a little sentimental about kitties.

That's terrible. I've cried more for catas than I have people. I'm always saddened by the loss of one.

*hugs*

I have too. Hugs to you Glynndah.
Now I must go act as doorman for my heffalumps - it's just started raining and they've all decided the back deck is no longer the place to be.

You've probably seen this commercial, it's one of the greats--but if you haven't, well, it was made for you. Enjoy! :cattail:

I love this commercial. It is one of the best I have seen. Thanks for posting a link to it.

OMG That is brilliant!
It is. I can't decide which is my fave part. The guy with the lint roller, or when the kitties swim across the river :D

"Anbody can herd cattle. Holdin' together 10,000 half-wild shorthairs...ah that's another thing altogether"

Love it!

About pets making their mark? We have kitties at home but I have a similar experience with dogs.

Every time we build the set for a show, we feel it isn't complete until the puppy paw prints are somewhere on the stage.

Tradition - the artist owns several dogs and they generally wander about during the hanging of flats, building, painting, rehearsing. But a few years ago the dogs accidentally stepped in paint and then carried it across several areas of the stage and a small portion of the scenery.

The tradition stuck.

And now, once the prints are in place - the set is done. Generally a half an hour before opening.

LOL

We broke the floor of the middle room into three sections so we could move the furniture. Each time we painted a section they left their mark in the form of Paw Prints in the paint.

Today we painted the last section of this floor in preperation of our covering it with wood laminate. Naturaly the kids had to put their prints there as well.
