Make a haiku

hazy sunny day
sunlight reflecting off the
shimmering water

that made me quietly
smile a smile I have not let
show in a long while

silvery night comes
stars briskly lit and abright
a wish made tonight

listening to the
night: soft sounds undo harsh words
be true to thyself

impervious joy
move along; skip in delight
be with who you want

impervious joy
move along; skip in delight
be with who you want

Wow, you guys are good. I'm going to be audacious enough to post my third-rate haikus along with your excellent ones, and hope the talent rubs off somehow.

__

a simple word or
friendly smile can mean so much
or nothing at all

__

a kind face stares out
behind the masque of evil
but i don't see it

__

ugly twisted thoughts
peer through the eyeholes of the
beautiful masque

they're watching me now
ev'ry step i take i know
they'll laugh when i fall

__

i want to prove them wrong
to stand on my own always
but solitude chafes.

very insightful laBelleDormant though I may not fully undersatand... but your haikus struck note with me...

marina night comes
good food, special friends surround
blessed friendship be

gentle breezes blew
secrets to a friend's trusted
ear to always keep

life is various
too large for one person to
understand fully

Amazing insights
come unsuspectedly late
at night: revealing

giving thanks to friends
unknown and undectected in
the night: loyalty

wills clash, heated words
desire rises; clutch, grasp, turn,
twist, writhe united

thundering clouds rage
whipping sunlight out of sight
oh the plans I had
