Is there any way to edit a story once it has been published? I recently spotted a mistake in a story of mne - a repeated word.

You have to resubmit the whole thing, same title plus the word EDIT, and a Note to the Editor. It takes a week or two, as edits are low priority.

For a single word, I wouldn't bother. All of us catch typos after the event - unless it's a really major cock up, many of us don't bother fixing mistakes.

When you submit an edited story the original story will stay online, so you don't lose anything by editing.

Is a repeated word really enough of an issue to make the system go through the process all over again? Within a few days of the original posting--before you could get an edit through--most of those who are going to read your story have done so and aren't coming back to check because they were enraged that you repeated a word. This isn't the New Yorker--and you can find such mistakes in the New Yorker too (and they don't fix them).
