Major thing for politcians and powerful people

I have such a thing for people with political power. I have two major themes to mine.

1) I am a Congressperson/Senator/etc. Usually a Democrat/liberal. And I lose in some humiliating fashion to a Republican/conservative rival. This prompts me to meet the person to beg for my forgiveness and to announce I have seen the err of my ways. And it goes from there.

2) My husband is someone's rival. And I betray my husband for his enemy.
