The look he got from her said something totally different to what her words said.
"Honestly I simply wished to look around and see if anything caught my eye really. And I would love to have your company, beside I can't guard you if you aren't near me."
He simply walked with her, looking around and watching the general going's on. While Melisandra was busy haggling over the cost of the shirts she was getting for him, he got a warning from his guardian. The ice cold breeze that ran down his neck. He turned in time to throw the pickpocket off his aim. The youth's arm was grabbed tightly, bringing a startled yelp from the thief.
"Tell your friends to leave me alone, lest I call on the hounds of Gehenna to hunt you all down." Lentharian whispered to the boy, letting his native accent shine through.
The boy's eyes widened, he quickly waved his free hand in the air, warding off evil as he whispered, "Noden." He ran as soon as Lentharian released him.
The rest of the shopping done, they headed back to their room. Lentharian 'allowed' Melisandra to go upstairs first, carefully watching her walk the entire distance. He wasted little time securing his gems in his saddle gear, and sat down beside Melisandra.
"There have been times when I have been ridiculed for carrying a fortune in gems without having guard around me. But then, no one suspects that someone like me would be carrying such fortune. So it works well. But then again, having a bodyguard like you is something I could grow accustomed to."
He leaned forward slowly, gently kissing Melisandra. His heart raced a little faster as his lips tasted hers. A soft moan of pleasure escaped his lips before he broke it off, looking down and smiling happily.
"Thank you."
