My .mac account has suddenly converted to Japanese script. The appearance setting is Western - Latin1 so I'm guessing it's a server problem.

Home page is ok - English, all sub pages are in Japanese (I think, I'm not a expert)

Any ideas?

It's not the cup-holder thingy out of alignment, is it?

I've had the same problem sometimes on my Windows IE. Try changing the setting to "UTF-8".

If you weren't treated like a three-year-old, you'd be able to right-click on the page to do it. I gues you have to Command-Click or Option click or something.

This isn't helping ! :D

Sorry! What I should have said is that I have some great hiragana, katakana and kanji sites in the event you are unable to correct the language problem.

:D

Buy the man a cigar!

It's quite simple to change the settings on the Mac, there's a switch on the underside of the cup holder thingy!

Thanks Joe, cured.

Yui, get those sites over, better to have them in reserve.

I devote the rest of this thread to short three liners on 'dirty mac stories.'

A neighbour of a friend, Spanish, spoke broken English arrived at our friends house out of breath having been 'flashed' in Muswell Hill.

"What happened?" The friend asked.

"He open ez coat an show me all ez rubbish"

I don't have a .mac account, but I've used Mac long enough to know this: whatever it is, it has something to do with Preferences or Settings or the Network Settings thing that comes up when you pull down the apple menu. Did that help?

I bought a new ibook because the old ibook had something screwy going on in Google. My searches defaulted to u.k sites.

You can't contact Google without a court order. My Mac guy didn't have a clue. The only answer was upgrading to the larger screen.

FYI, there are two cupholders on this one. And an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
