Lurking, ever lurking?

Here's a question for you. Noticing that there are people who are starting new threads all teh time, does that make the rest of us who just respond here and there lurkers, even though we've registered and even lost the virgin tags (to whomever... I can't believe Analamy took mine... though what a ride!)?

Lasher, MADDOG, Xander, Weird Harold and Whispersecret, Tiggs, I'd love to know what y'all think. I'll lurk forever, if I must, but I at least want to be known as a dignified lurker!

Hey Fox, don't look now, but you just started a new thread! If you were a lurker before, you certainly aren't now!

To answer your question though, I define lurker as those who in reality come here often but change their names to match their questions or responses (ie, "Curious Guy" Or "Wank fanatic" or something like that. - I made those up by the way).

Unregistered users who post infrequently are "Drop Ins" and the ones who just watch are "Perverts". (Hey Perverts, that's an affectionate term! Look all you want. I don't give a rats ass!)

I think of anyone who is registered as a "regular" to some extent, regardless of how many posts they make or how often they show themselves. But in the truest sense, if you post a couple of times a week, and/or have lost you virginity, then you are truely a regular.

I don't care what you are though. Just as long as you play nice.

A true 'lurker' is one who doesn't post at all. If you post when you have something to say, and just read the rest of the time, you're participating in the board. It doesn't require that you be an instigator, or a deep thinker.

If you just read posts and say 'I know the answer to that question' and go on to read the next post then you're lurking.
