Luna's Haven~closed save for invitees.

Wanders close enough to scratch a majestic scaled head before moving down and beginning to stretch for my walk about...

She half-wakes from her sleep, cold and damp, her cheek taking the pattern of the ash's bark as her face had pressed into it over the hours.

A bass voice, yet feminine, reverberated in the air near the tree. "Come within, Sister Linden; my sap will warm thee," and the forest hushed as the girl melted into the ash. A cardinal on the spruce to the ash's right whistled and the wood again erupted in life.

I return home after being gone for hours. I need the silence now, the peace. There are too many emotions, too much everything.

Small bare feet climb the steps to my cabin, small hands dispose of the wards and unlock the door, small body steps over the threshold. I need rest.

The living room is filled with the scent of oak and pine, cedar and sandalwood. It soothes me. A fire springs to life in the fireplace and settle down, curling up on my couch and watching the red gold orange yellow flicker. Plucking my notebook from the ether, I grab a pen and open the page.

Writing. Maybe i should try it.

scribbles

there isn't enough time for
everything I want to do.

I wish there were.

Magic happens only once, sometimes twice
If you are lucky, you will see it happening
If you are me? You will miss it.

Blood glistens in my dreams.
Under my nails, trapped in my mouth.
Screams are heard but they are not mine.
And it soothes me...knowing you bleed.
For me.

BREATHE.

Silence gives consent.

I wake up from where I had inadvertently dozed off last evening. My neck is sore, the note book is crumpled. The pen is lost. After stretching slightly, I stand up and head for the wash room. A shower is in order and then maybe, I can get to work on the basement...

Three posts down. One still owed. I gave a grimace and thought about how I wanted my wolf to react....I would deal with it later. The RW was screaming for my attention. I had shit to do.

Guess the basement would have to wait until later...

My brain isn't in a happy place. So with no further ado, I head for the stairs leading down to the basement. I hadn't cleaned them since moving in...and they are dark, dusty, barely lit. That suits me just fine.

Eventually I clean it all up....and it ends up being much lighter. The stone stairs are carpeted, track lighting installed.

Now to find the appropriate toys....

Finally, the initial set up is finished. Only things missing are exposed cross beams and possibly a stockade or two...no matter. I have time. It will be a while before anyone gets use of this place.

Feet head back upstairs into the main part of the cabin. I want a night swim. Maybe I shall head for the Outlook?

After much travel~here and there, hither and yon, bouncing from the Outlook to other places less soothing and back again, I have finally found JUST what I needed. Acres of dark forest surround this place, perfect for shifting, for running, for playing hide and seek, for hunting.

Eventually, after traveling the murky highways and byways, one sees a clearing and a small log cabin.

This is My Haven. It doesn't look imposing, does it? Just like me, it is small and cozy, at least judging by the outside. And most people never get any further than the outside, do they? But come on in~ look around. This is my living room. It's cozy, yes?

Make a left~do you see the kitchen? Nothing scary here. Not at all.

If I were to lead you upstairs, to the master bedroom? You would see only clean airy space. True the bed is good enough for binding...but...well it looks innocent.

And everywhere else you stumble? It is all like that~clean, pure, wholesome. Except for the basement. But we won't go into that now. I will let you discover that for yourself.

So the stage is set, and my things...all my things are here. I just need to travel to the end of the lane that winds through the forest and attach a proper keep out sign.

Beneath that is a small white placard. Written upon it in Red is simply this~

Do NOT enter unless invited. You will be bled.

Finally...a place that is mine. To share or not. A home, for a wolf who has traveled far and whose home hasn't been hers in much too long. Let's hope this one...is different.

Eventually, my Muse and I are on the outskirts of my woods. In the distance, I hear my puppy...lonely, howling...

C'mon pretty lady. I shall show you around.

*I move closer my body brushing against hers, not in fear of the woods or anything in it, just in a desire to be near. My eyes move over her new Haven, smiling as I get the feel of her from the surroundings. So different, and yet still so Luna.

Thank you for bringing me here...I am honored

Wicked grin, eyes glancing at the missed one. I tug her through the woods, leading her ever onward until we reach my cabin. One hand flicks a movement, as we climb the steps and the wards that had blazed brightly, fade and disperse.

I push the door open and tug her inside. The timberwolf pup comes bounding over...all adorable fluffiness. I drop her hand and scoop him up.

This is Grayfang, a gift from my wolf sis and my house guardian. Say hello.

I press the pup into her arms, and wrap my arm round her. Leading her to my sofa takes but a moment...and then I turn away to light the fire. The scent of cedar chips and oak fill the room.

Would you like some tea??

*Laughing softly I bury my face in soft puppy fur and settle us onto the sofa. A wet nose tickles my skin, I think I'm being scented.*

I am pleased to meet you, Grayfang. I hope we can be good friends.

*My eyes seek and find Luna, hungry just for the sight of her*

Tea would be lovely, thank you.

I hear her response and move to the kitchen, flicking on the lights and prepping the pot. I drink a mixture~fresh chamomile and spearmint leaves. I heat the water and drop the leaves in to steep while setting the tray with two tea mugs, clover honey, pure cane sugar and a few biscotti. Eventually, I strain the tea into the pot and add another smaller pot of fresh water and a few regular tea bags. There. That should be enough for my Muse.

I carry the whole thing out and set it next to her on the table.

I drink herbal tea...but the white tea pot just holds water in case you wanted regular tea.

Enough. I lean in and press a very soft kiss upon her mouth, tongue tip darting out to taste her smile. I missed her.

*Leaning into her kiss, lips parting slightly, I teasingly flick the tip of my tongue to play with hers for a bare second*

Your herbal mix sounds good, relaxing and refreshing at the same time...maybe with a drop or two of honey.

*my fingers curl into puppy fur, scratching gently to keep my hands busy*

Soft sigh before leaning away and pouring the tea. I add a teaspoon of honey to both and tell Grayfang to remove himself from My Muse's lap. He growls softly...his puppy voice heard in my head..."big mean wolfy." Then he climbs down and curls up by the front door in his basket. I can't help the grin as I press the mug into her hands.

I need bed soon....but I am thankful to spend this time with you, love. How are you? Are things well?

*Warm mug replaces warm pup and I can't help smiling as Grayfang heads for his place. The scent of the tea and the steam rising from the mug are already working their magic, relaxing my muscles and soothing my nerves*

I should be in bed as well, it has been a very long day and tiring day. Circumstances had me a bit jittery though and I found myself awake...and I am glad.

*Watching her over the rim of my mug I take a sip...delicious*

I take the first sip of my tea...and the lights dim until only the flickering of the flames are seen. My body curls next to hers, empty arm reaching to enfold her and tuck her into my side.

You are welcome here, my Muse. Whenever you have the time and I am here. You are welcome.

I do believe it is time for all good little seductive Muse's to put themselves in a warm bed and rest.

Happy sigh, as the chamomile does it's work. Relaxing, soothing, making sleepy.

*Snuggling at her side I feel my eyes getting that tell tale heaviness. This was what was missing...her presence, her warmth*

I believe that I can sleep now...that makes it easy to be good.

*a slightly impish grin curls my lips*

I will be taking a dream of you along with me though, so I might not go right to sleep. If that is alright with you...

Husky laughter...deep enough, seductive enough...that wolf pup raises his head and barks a slight "Arooo".

Oh baby love, any dreams you take along, you must share. Just remember that. As for myself, I am in the bed in the RW and only keeping eyes open by sheer strength of will.

A soft kiss, placed with care upon a pale cheek.

So we both go to bed, with a smile...and dream of things...until next time, yes?

Yes, my Wolf...sleep sweet and dream wicked.

*setting my mug aside I lean close and brush a kiss to her lips, ice blue eyes gaze deeply into hers for a moment*

Good night, dearest Luna...

A smile.

Always my Muse. Good night and sleep sweet.

The RW beckons...and I fade.

Linden slips out of the ash despite the ash's desire to keep her, savor her, and steps out into the clearing. Approaching the steps again, she avoids the squeaky step and sits quietly, legs bent and to her side, in the corner of the deck that the dragon has often occupied. There is a heightened awareness near where the dragon has spent time, and again she wonders about her newly proclaimed status of "dragonkin."

Wanders into the living room from the basement...I had spent the morning rearranging my things and needed a break. A passing breeze sends the scent of trees and soft girl flesh wafting through my window. I hesitate and then meander toward the door, pulling it open one handed to glance outside. Ah, it is a girl.

You really should knock, sweetling. Won't be here long today...but come in.
