16 egg yolks beaten int sugar syrup for 'oves moles' - soft egg - layer
Raspberry flavoured and hazlenut praline butter creams for decorating.
16" square layer, 12" square layer and 10" square layer.

Tomorrow morning is frantic, wedding is at 2.00 - see you next week.

Oh... and in all the rush I submitted the uneditted text for Deb's 'Grab 'em by the balls' thread. And I've got a cold :D

Have fun. See you when you get back. At least you got the Grab 'em thing in - good to see you have your priorities straight. :)

Oh yes, let's see the cake when it's done it sounds absolutely amazing.

I'm sure you'll have lots of fun :)

(a picture would be delightful!)

Have fun, and no tears, remember you aren't losing a daughter, you are gaining a son!

The wedding was fabulous beyond our dreams. Perfect weather, perfect day. More later once I have pics to show :)

The Wedding

The wedding took place at 2.00pm on a glorious autumnal sunny day, which is just as well as the wedding theme was 'Autumn'.

I've a limited number of photo's at the moment as we, being principa players, didn't take our camera and the only photo's we've seen, apart from a small selection including the ones attached are printed on 'antique paper' and I've not had the opportunity to scan any of them. More photo's later.

The wedding was held in a 500 year-old town house that used to be a court room and then a village school, now it is hired out for events.

The whole day was fantastic!! My daughter's friend, a cellist, played the service introduction and played later during the registry signing. My wife read one of her poems written for our daughter and I escorted the bride down the aisle in the traditional way before being shoved off into a corner. We had friends from England, Iceland, Portugal and America in attendance, unfortunately our wealthy chinese cousin couldn't attend due to a death in the family but his son came from New York and his former wife, my wife's cousin. (Described by an artist friend as 'the babe with the Baywatch Boobs"! She's second from right in the group photo, next to her son.

Before, during and after a Thai 'banquet', tyhe Best Bridesman (a long term male friend of our daughters, the Best Man and your's truly gave their speech's, each hilarious (he boasts) and poignant as befitting the occasion. Later we cut the cake (photo's to follow), served a Portuguese buffet and danced till midnight, though I was exausted by 10.00pm and took myself off to the hotel.

It was a great day and will live long in all our memories.

Wed1 - me, our daughter and Ines - sorry for the few who know me, I've aged dramatically, it's been a tough couple of years.

Wed2 - Group shot

Wed 3 - Bride and Groom

Those are so beautiful!
I's gettin' sniffly.

Congratulations to you and your family, Neon! :rose:

Thanks Bluebell & Rob. I'll leave the pics up for a couple of days and post cake pics for those who demanded as and when :D

They're beautiful.

And you're glowing almost as much as your daughter.

Lovely.

Thank you for posting these.

*sigh* How romantic. Congratulations on your daughters wedding. Did you do the traditional father and daughter dance?

I certainly did, though there was some debate about following American or English rules. We followed English with the bride and groom dancing first followed by Papa and Daughter. The groom is a 'big boy', he was Bill Weasley in episode 2 or 3 of the Harry Potter films and hugely regrets having been 'written out' in subsequent film scripts! Which is how they met, they both belong to the same acting troop.

Lovely, what did you dance to? I'm sure he did regret that, I can imagine but would they have had the chance to meet if he hadn't been doing something else?

Do you know... I really can't remember. The day passed too quickly and in something of a blur. And I was pretty shattered by the time we got around to dancing

They'd would have met, he was already in the acting troop but they both had other partners... it just took a while. I think it was me telling her that her former boyfriend said, 'Well, that was a waste of an evening," after seeing one of the plays they put on that drove the final wedge firmly in place. Much to our relief :D
