Good talking to you. I scanned your EC story. Way, WAY too sweet for me, and not enough dialog in the first chapter for me, but the characters and their actions are very believable, and you write well. I didn't finish that one, but if you write something for LW, I might.

Well, that's what I was saying. Many people know there are consequences to cheating. Someone, practically by definition, gets hurt. They don't view it in a positive way. They don't fantasize about it in a positive way.

But Incest readers do, apparently, view the fantasy in a positive way without consequences. Nobody in their fantasies gets hurt.

At least as a thought experiment, my little theory is validated enough to think about it more.

Another way to look at it is that there are people who are aware of the negative consequences, but can't help but find something interesting about a sexual relationship developing on top of pre-existing familial chemistry, and want a safe way to indulge that interest. In those instances, exploring the consequences can be a drag on that indulgence, regardless of whether or not it's healthy (it is) or dramatically effective (it can be).

I'm not strictly talking about myself here; personally, incest squicks me out, so I stay away. But I speak as someone inherently bothered by the idea of teachers hooking up with students; it's a massive breach of trust, potentially damages the student psychologically, and makes it impossible for a teacher to fulfill her responsibilities. I feel that way, yet last month I put up a story about a guy losing his virginity to his favorite teacher and didn't even blink. Sure, I wrote it so that it happened juuuuust after the teacher was no longer technically responsible for him, and paid some lip service to the dangerous complexities of such a relationship. Still, Tab A found its way into Slot B and there wasn't exactly a whole lot of regret the morning after.

Now, how all this relates to your pet theory, I'm not 100% sure. Maybe because LW is such a broad category, you get scorned men stumbling into "willing cuckold" stories looking for BTB material, such stories tell them that cheating can actually be kind of hot, so they take that to mean their pain isn't real and naturally they lose their shit. Same idea for consensual cuckoldry fans wandering into BTB stories. Still, that wouldn't account for the mass trolling of specific kinds of stories, or the level of invective spewed in those comments. Then again, that anger over being cheated on probably just taps into something a lot darker and more personal than "Oh, I don't think I want to know about her special surprise for Daddy."

Either way, that's my perspective; hope it was worth reading.
