Lovey-Dovey Names

Being new to the BDSM lifestyle, I have many questions and thoughts. Some questions were good, and some thoughts were totally ridiculous, and even though this may seem silly, I must ask what other people's thoughts and experiences were with normal pet names that everyone uses. I wonder if Doms/me allow their subs to call them "honey," "sweety" etc? I, on occasion, have called my Master "hun," but that was only in an email. He hasn't reprimanded me yet, but I am scared to call him anything other than "Master," and but that's only during play. When we aren't having a sex fantasy, I can speak freely, but I haven't attempted to call him anything other than his name.

I know it's a silly topic, but I'm curious.

And on topic, I had to call Him Major General whenever he had his uniform on and His crop in hand. Other times it was "Your High Holiness."

Okay... that's all a joke.

He wanted to be called Sir and I could also call Him by His given name... and it was not Aloysius. He did not allow dear, darling, dolly, honey or anything along those lines.

What he called me, aside from Roxanne was slut, whore, bitch, c*nt... you get the idea.

It was a real loving relationship...

Yes, PLAYS with me is an apt description. It's a real on/off and love/hate thing, we have. Not the most healthy of relationships, if it can even be called that now.

And He is the one who directed me to Literotica. He reads the stories here on occassion. But He does not ever come to the bulletin boards, although He has read threads I have sent Him in the past.

i've actually heard of someone using lovey.

The phrases that jarred you, Dove, usually get used for shock effect. It's the no nonsense, A-game, bringing it on vernacular of a PYL in full display. Couple that with tone, either voice of thunder or breezy whisper, and you're watching a mesmerized grounded bird before an erect hooded cobra.

Personally I do not allow the honey, baby, sweetheart names used by those I own. Too vanilla for this Domme. I only allow My given name in situations that are public and necessary. Mistress and Ma'am are the titles I answer to in My personal world, with My personal toys.

Chris will call me "Hun" when we're not in some sort of scene or intimate situation. When we are in intimate situations etc, he calls me "baby girl" "little girl" "pet." I like "baby girl" the best! I always call him "Master when I'm supposed to. For some reason, "Sir" just sounds too formal to me. Much like addressing a stranger or older gentleman.

As far as the "slut" "whore" etc, I don't think I would respond to it. I could be totally wrong, it might turn me on, but I was brought up in an environment where those names are unexceptable and disrespectful in all situations. My mother always told me to never let a man disrespect you, even if it isn't meant literally. I do understand the reasons etc for using such names as a way to entice the psychie though.

Well, my dolly... I have enough self-esteem and ego to go around more than a few times. And most people who know me at all, will agree with that. ;-)

He calls/called me those names for a reason... and I just told you ^ there (in the above paragraph) why.

In His words... "My whore, put the ego away, I have more than enough for both of us." Calling me those names was sometimes His way of putting me in my place.

But when used at other times, they are also terms of endearment.

He's not nearly the big monster I might have made Him out to be.
If He were... I would not still be around. ;-)

Oh, and be calls me baby. The only man I have ever known who can say it and pull it off, as in it's just a natural thing for him to say.

Once you both meet in person in r/l you might find your thoughts and views change over time in relations to how you think and address him in various situations and how you feel with the way he addresses you.
