I am trying to put together a table scroll for my sisters wedding...I`m going to put a piece of Love poetry on it.

This makes me wonder what your fav` bit of Lovey Dovey Stuff is.

This Marriage (by Rumi)

May these vows and this marriage be blessed.
May it be sweet milk,
this marriage, like wine and halvah.
May this marriage offer fruit and shade
like the date palm.
May this marriage be full of laughter,
our every day a day in paradise.
May this marriage be a sign of compassion,
a seal of happiness here and hereafter.
May this marriage have a fair face and a good name,
an omen as welcomes the moon in a clear blue sky.
I am out of words to describe
how spirit mingles in this marriage.

That is by far one of the nicest things I`ve read in days!

I`ve trawled E.Barret-Browning, Yeats, Keats and even went as far as Owen! It reminds me a little of the Hindi Marriage Blessing, but more complete maybe!

probably not what you meant but this if the first love poem i wrote about my gf for my gf it was when i was 16 so im not sure if its very good

Eternity


Our souls twisting embracing for eternity
No touch smell or sight except blind love
Spinning and turning dancing into the stars
Only enough in our universe for one another


Our lives star a parallel together from creation
A life of searching for the one i love, my true love
A moment alone could i hear you calling
A call from someone i doubted was there


Then we're there can it be you is this a dream
You put your arms around us, familiar, love
It flows coming washing over us from the heavens
Like silk draping over our bodies holding us together with a soft unbreakable bond


Your love my inspiration to live and to breathe
To see beauty in world and all
Your shining love, lets me see light in darkness
Feel a glowing warmth when coldness surrounds me


Our love no longer lost in blindness
But filled with the most beautiful colours and visions


You lift my soul to the stars
Your love wrapped around me
The blindness returns, But the love only grows
Till the next search, my soul love, kindred spirits

thanks CelticsHeart im not really a writer at all ... i wish in a way i could write better to put my feelings into words ... i like that poem i wrote though for sentimental reasons even if its not that good

I dunno why but I've been feeling all mushy here lately. bad thing is, I don't have anyone to be all mushy about! haha I dunno if you give any second thoughts to horoscopes but mine said i'd be mushy and tender hearted because of the pull of the moon and the aligning of the planets *shrugs* weirder things have happend! haha
